Recently, I cannot enjoy pot at all

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you and how old were you when you started smoking weed, and how old were you when you started smoking weed everyday? Nothing scientific or anything but I have a good number of friends that started smoking everyday when they were 15-16 years old and by the time they are 22-23 they experienced something very similar to what you describe. It's almost as if they "grow out of it" or something. Some of them took long breaks, like at least a month, more is better, and started again and were fine, some never went back because of the anxiety/panic attacks.

So, I am a daily pot smoker. Been smoking pretty much every day for the last couple years. I only toke up in the evening, and always have had a very low tolerance. I literally only take the tiniest of bowls to get where I want, to the point where an 1/8th lasts me a month. And this is when smoking every day.

I had a panic attack 2 weeks ago after smoking pot, and ever since then, smoking -even the tiniest bit (less than my normal tiny amount), gives me very uncomfortable heart palpitations, chest tightness, and anxiety. Literally every time.

I took several days off and smoked a tiny bit last night - same thing. I had those physical anxiety symptoms in my chest for several hours.

Has this happened to anyone else? I believe the stuff I have is a very high quality sativa (typically I enjoy indicas). I cannot tell if it is anxiety related, or heart related, since pot has the potential to affect both. But if this is just what pot does to me now, I cannot use it anymore.

Any thoughts or experiences would be much appreciated.

P.S. Sorry mods, I completely missed the mega anxiety thread. Feel free to merge.

I am going to go ahead an merge this with the anxiety thread, but first i shalle give you my two cents(which I dont always do{I know I'm lazy}].

As others have said, if you have some mild under laying anxiety that maybe you dont know about, or maybe you do, then pot can trigger the anxiety. But there is good news, I think in your case this might be a strain issue because the strain of weed you are smoking will have will determine how it affects your anxiety. Of course so can your state of mind when you smoke, your surroundings and things like that. but in your story you did not mention that anything about the night you had a panic attack, like if you were in a particularly bad mood, or if you were around people you dont know or like, which leads me to beleive there was nothing out of the ordinary about your experience that night. if there was anything differnt that night you should let us know.

So what I am wondering is if you got a new bad sometime recently before the panic attack. If you got a new bag it could be a strain that causes anxiety like Indica dominant strains. Sativa domenant strains have been reported as being much better for those with anxiety as it relaxes you more, instead of making slightly stimulated. If it was a strain issue and you have been smoking weed from the same bag that would explain why you keep having issues.

since weed started making me paranoid maybe 3-4 years ago every time i smoke i get paranoid. switched to alcohol benzos psychedelics and once in a while stimulants as DOC but don't get high every day.
