really tired of this benzo withdrawing - need help

Hi,

I have kicked benzos this year first time in autumn and it went fine then. Then used again, stopped and went find again. Then started to use again (stupid me) and now I feel like I can't do it anymore.

I'm so tired mentally and physically because this has been such a hard fight all year and have started to have many physical symptoms wich I'm not sure anymore are they benzo withdrawal caused paranoia/hypocondria or real.

Last benzo "binge" or how would you call it lasted about two weeks mostly 10-20mg temazepam or 0.5-2mg xanax. Now I have taken 5mg diazepam last four days and not anymore xanax and temazepam. I have also used phenibut 5-15g/day about a year soon and Lyrica 300-600mg at the top of that. Four days ago I stopped taking pregabalin along with tramadol and codeine (wich I have also used on and off all year usually four weeks at a time). Tramadol withdrawal cause me deprsession, extreme lethargy and some flue symptoms but nothing major. Majos issue is related again to those benzo withdrawals and I feel like this fu***** "kindling" phenomenon has something to do with this. I mean it seem to get more and more hard every time I do this and I have done it so many times this year that my mind and body feels like they are giving up. I have never been a suicidal person but now I have been really giving up. Feels like I just can't take this much more. My heart isn't liking this. That was a bad period when I hadn't sleep about two weeks no more than 3-4 hours per night despite working physically hard. That with benzo withdrawals feels has broken something iside me.

Now I have only 5mg diazepam left and two (2) 25mg Chlordiazepoxides left of long acting benzos. Xanax and temazepam I have enough but won't like to use them at this situation any more.

Do you have any suggestion how to deal this shit alive? Phenibut I have been reducing this week from 15g to 7g and today will propably reduce evening dose to 3 or 4 grams. I have used quetiapine at night but ex. last night it gave me tingling sensation from my back around to the body wich caused restless legs and kept me awake wich made me thinking it's because of it's lowering seizure threshold. What I have read seizures might even be just that kind of "tingling" feelings.

Those who has experience in same kind of situations what do you suggest?
Do you think those 5mg valium and 2x 25 Chlordiazepoxide would be enough to taper my benzo habit completely off now?

Sorry about language mistakes, my native language isn't english.

Thank you

Seems like you are experiencing major withdrawals. If it were me I would hang on to the xanax or tamazepam. Try to taper down because you don't want to get sick. Benzo withdrawal is the worst and that's why you're feeling so ill. Don't take more than 1 mg xanax before bedtime and stay awake during the day so you can can proper sleep. Wish you the best and you can get through this.

Now I have a doctor to help me. He put me on clonazepam 0,5mg 3x/day and baclofen 100mg 2x/day. That has worked very good. No withdrawals at all and has been sleeping very good finally after two weeks with almost no sleep at all. He has planned that I first taper clonazepam at this time schedule: week 1-2 3x0,5mg = 1,5mg/day, weeks 2-4 1,25mg/day, weeks 4-6 1mg/day, weeks 6-8 0,75mg/day, weeks 8-10 0,5mg/day, weeks 10-12 0,25mg/day and then off.

Baclofen I will take 200mg/day whole that time and taper that after clonazepam.

What do you think about that clonazepam taper schedule? Especially those who has experienced with benzo or clonazepam taper I would appreciate to hear comments from them.

Thanx!

in the detox facility i was i shared a room with a guy who had a major flunitrazepam habit (20-40mgs a day, more if he had the cash) and they tapered him with clonazepam. i don't remember the starting dose, but they tapered him over 2 weeks, reducing in 0.25mg steps. it wasn't pleasant for him, but it seemed to work.

Looks good by me.

getting to 0.25mg a day will do you alot of good. i managed to get down to that dose before i jumped off and it was pretty tolerable.

Wow, don't know what else to say except, Wow. 8o

To jambabomba, looks like your doctor knows what he/she is doing. Please try your best to keep to that schedule and good luck.

Equivalency charts for benzos measure the severity of dependance & withdrawal. The lowest possible dose (.5mg clonazepam or 1mg Ativan) is suppose to be the safe dose to quit with minimal or no withdrawals (NOTE: in practice this is not always true).

This is a quote from other post and I would like to hear others comments on that. Especially what do you think is 0,5mg clonazepam a dose where you could totally drop it?

Little update and an important notice with DXM.

I messed up about four weeks ago with my tapering process and used phenibut again 10-30g/day, xanax few days 4mg (but not with clonazepam) and clonazepam dosage when I didn't took xanax raised to 3-4mg. That period lasted only two weeks but I had to start tapering from higher doses than before. Also used Lyrica amounts of 900-1200mg. Altough I didn't use baclofen when I used phenibut.

But I got myself back in the track and only in week reduced my clonazepam dosage from 2mg to 0,5mg with DXM! And infact, it started to feel that 1mg was too much because after DXM I slept about 8-10h in night with only 1mg clonazepam (and 100mg baclofen taken at night) so my tolerance rapidly lowered with dxm and also my depression/panic attacks went away.

This is kind of MIRACLE to me. I have lot experience with benzos and withdrawals and this hasn't never ever happened before! I mean before weekly dosing of DXM I was strugling with 1,5mg clonazepam to get about 3-4h sleep and then waking up with anxiety, sweating and shivering. But after only a week of dosing DXM 300-500mg per day (so that I stayed at about 1-2 plateu all day) I could use only 0,5-1mg of clonazepam and slept like a baby about 8-10 hours and no anxiety or withdrawal symptoms at day at all!

Also baclofen started to working allmost as efficiently as it worked when I started it (vivid lucid dreams etc. and at day dosage I could get allmost sleep).

So I'm now very confident about using DXM in benzo/gabaergic withdrawals. I'm wondering if its effects are mainly from NMDA antagonism, receptor upregulation, serotonin boosting or all them together. Anyway it seems to work and works very well, somehow feels that it "reset" brains. Now I'm planning at using it when I drop my clonazepam dose to 0,25mg. Will do that drop in about week or two. Then again week without dxm and then dropping 0,25mg away and using dxm daily at 1-2 plateu week after that. Maybe this could be the way to avoid PAWS by antagonizing glutamate excitotoxicity and its negative domino effects.

Damn that's one good doctor.

I'm surprised he didn't tell you just to get the fuck out of his office or sent you to a costly rehab that would have rapid tapered you and fucked your brain up. Where in Europe are you?

He gave you like the perfect thing. Glad to hear you're no longer in pain.
