Rave Annoyances

I met this guy that was a fighter at a rave and he was really fucked up. He was one of the first people I met by chance, but the whole night he kept trying to fight everyone (including me at one point, but kept claiming he was kidding).

That could have been really bad.

^^^Haha... That's crazy!

I legitmately DO fight in amature MMA events, and have done so for a couple of years now and the ONLY time has the thought of potentially fighting somebody whilst I was rolling was when I was walking back to my hotel in downtown Austin after a concert/rave/whatever and a car full of thugs kept tailing me and yelling at me... But, alas, I was waaaay too happy tot do anything other than smile and wave, and keeeep on walking.=D When drinking or on certain other stimulants, I can be a little more aggressive, but I definately don't go around bragging on myself or trying to start trouble... I'm just more likely to snap back when pushed :p

Most people that claim to be competitive martial artists/fighters and go out of their way to use this claim to try to harass or intimidate people are simply morons who, in all probability, have minimal or no training and even less brains and respect.

Sad sad things, but there'll always be idiots everywhere you go. To be totally cliche, you really just have to ignore it, and remember to do unto others as you'd like them to do to you.

Sorry for quoting myself but is anyone else experience this, or know why it’s being done?

I’m a bloke and the ones following are also blokes. For example, if I am at one of the bigger London clubs and change room they will follow me, and even follow if I move to a third one or back. They will follow to that room and always stay very close. Is it some kind of game? Trying to keep me away from certain girls? Because they are annoyed after I’ve danced with the wrong girl or what.

I’m not a frequent clubber, and haven’t been in about two months but this still puzzles me.

They might be keeping an eye on you to see how fucked up you are, if you are really fucked up then you are an easy target for pick pocketing or getting robbed in general.

One more to add: Random girls who start grinding on me. They just assume that I want them grinding on me but I just want my own space to dance in >:/

Upon looking at this thread I think some people should understand that many of these 'annoyances' are meant with good intentions, yes they should respect your choices before doing something to you may not like but then you should also respect their good intentions to make an effort to be friendly/sociable/make your rave better. :)

Just saying. Ecstasy is a drug that in the longterm has made so many of us incredibly open minded, lets not be so quick to close it eh? ;)

Random girls who refuse to grind on me... I mean come on I'm not dancing by myself for nothing.

Kids under 18 years old who shuffle(most of them), they are the most disrespectful little pukes that have ever graced this scene. I once saw a bunch of shuffle kids laughing and calling people retards in a circle who weren't shuffling. I wanted to bitch slap every single one of those barely gone through puberty scrawny bodies. Oh and these kids typically come to these events acting all hard and tough, that I'm a badass fucking 16 year old phase. I'm so glad Insomniac events are 18+ now ^^.

People who go too far to invade personal space while giving light shows. When I give light shows, it's just the lights and that's it. I don't blow on your face, some people have really poor hygiene you know, sometimes spit gets mixed in with your emission.

Pardon me if it's already been mentioned, but I cannot stand RAVE CASH. I'm talking about when you give somebody a $10 to buy a water, and they give you back a bunch of wet, smelly, ripped, and dirty stack of $1 bills that other ravers have exchanged in.

i guess i have to say this cause i do it but poi is awesome if your respectable about it. when i do it i find space where i know im not going to hit anyone and if i do, i usually feel pretty awful and apologize right away.

my biggest pet peeve about raves is people who just sit on the couch and spin glowsticks around in their own faces in the same motion all night. i mean come on just ask someone with gloves or other light toys for a lightshow. we usually dont mind :)

i dont think anyone has mentioned bad lightshows either. those are pretty rough lol

I've mostly had goodluck at raves. no bad vibes just dancing and everyone having a good time. i go to raves to dance and meet new people. I've got compliments about how fucked up i was like im over jumping up and down with my shirt off screaming and dancing and people are like look at this guy! everyones giving me high fives i fucking love it!

" It didn't exactly piss me off, but I found it annoying when another lightshow performer hijacked my show. Not only did he start competing with me uninvited (I prefer cooperation over competition), he kept bugging me to give him my gloves. He offered $40 and the low-end gloves he had. That doesn't even come close to what I paid for mine. Grf."

From a facebook friend.

But seriously man,
when people jack your show/ usually because they think they can perform better than you

that shit sucks ;/
