Wobbly teeth: One of my front ones has been loose and wobbly for over ten years and it's still okay. Dentists are usually deeply impressed by its staying power. I suspect it's only still intact cos I really don't fancy the gap-tooth pikey look - pure willpower keeping the fucker in cos there's sod all else to hold it in place.

True so very very true, but what can you do about it Monsta, its just the way of things init

I cant speak for other peoples realities but from my perspective, lately MOPs, ive realised that I've seen myself as separate all my life. Lately almost alienated from the rest of reality as though observing it. Buddhists aim for detachment but I realised today that I want to see myself as part of the whole.

While I was washing up I lost my self for a while and felt very intact and connected I suppose.

Ed.. Its not because things have changed in my life.. its as chaotic as ever with a lot of shit going down as it happens

newp.

he's going to a decent dentist - the same as mine that I got him into, when he moved here 7 years ago (hard to do in my area, since there's a waiting list and we're short of dentists in general), but he's an uber paranoid little bunny who researches his own stuff, and knows that thee system is well stretched and knows what's available n whuts not.

I swear if he got referred to an hygienist, he'd literally jizz his pants in excitement and bite her hand orf times eleventy and possibly fall at her feet in a very submissive stylee

true story potentially, honest guv

Buddhists aim for detachment, that s not my understanding at all:-

He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.

In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then believe them to be true.

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

My interpretation is that we must look within for peace and not to external things but that intimately the universe is one, there is only one, it came from one and is still one, individualism is an illusion, or an affectation of the human condition.

I Guess this discussion belongs somewhere else, I am not looking to make and biog statement or question your interpretation or belief TNH I've got to much on my hand with these fekin penguins;)

I love that quote.. utterly love it.. but would there be a 'within' or without?*

Where did it come from btw?

I can see the Truth in what you said and that quote.. but its also true that Buddhists aim for detachment.

The Four Noble Truths

1. Life means suffering.

2. The origin of suffering is attachment.

3. The cessation of suffering is attainable.

4. The path to the cessation of suffering.

* ive been getting right into advaita lately.

I just brushed me teeth immediately after eating a pack of crisps as a direct result of all the toofypeg talk in this 'ere thread. Not only harm reduction at its finest but cavity control on the side.
most dentists agree that crisps are the worst thing for teeth n hang around for way too long.

kudos for thee brushings
