this was in no way clear from any of your posts, if 'the post above yours' is referring to one you made. there are a few posts, but I presume you mean yours [edit]... actually, from your posts here, I interpreted that you thought the opposite, that you didn't accept SHM's einstein comment wasn't intended as personal

as far as I can see, when SHM references the Rockstar/Einstein thing, he's making reference to the shitstorm that occurred from the misinterpretation of his original comment. and by shit storm, i mean total freakout about something that did not happen. the intent of the post which caused the ensuing argument was misinterpreted.

I don't for one minute begrudge rockstar's over-sensitivity in this area. that's totally understandable and he's entitled to that. no problem with that at all. but the train wreck that followed from that over-sensitivity provides a relevant situation to be referenced, especially when it comes to describing situations of a similar nature or those that have the potential to be.

Is it strictly necessary? no. but it's relevant, and i don't think it's nasty in nature. [edit] a little insensitive? yes. but given rockstar's posting style and approach, insensitivity towards him from some folk is also perfectly understandable

and then there's the dynamics between the two and other things that have been discussed since. plus both their approaches and attitudes generally on top of that, which makes things a little more complicated

I don't think we all have to be friends and happy clappy hippies, far from it. I just don't think you have to have thin skin to be hurt by being deliberately reminded of nasty episodes, and it's out of line.

The only purpose of saying it and referencing that little saga that I can see is to deliberately upset and piss off rockstar. It was unnecessary and it had it's desired effect.

i'd say that was pretty constructive. we don't have to agree with each other to be constructive .. imo, anyway [edit] .. quickly concluding that we obviously don't agree is very constructive, no?

Did I miss another SHM/Rockstar spat? Buggrit. I'll just piece together a greatest hits compilation from memory rather than skipping back a page or two and reading it this time if it's all the same.

Having done that, will now have a mini-bitch 'bout bloody SS medicals :!

Shite they are. Shite but also magic. Went for mine yesterday and actually got there in plenty of time despite massive hangover and only half an hour's sleep. Positively smug with success I was. My appointment was at 10am, place opened at 9am, somehow they were an hour and a half behind by 9:45am. Magic I tells ya 8(

Was quite funny listening to the receptionist juggling appointments (well, mostly cancelling 'em). Apparently the problem was that too many people attended their appointment that day. Me being the third appointment of the day... and the bloke before me arrived the same time as I did and had to wait half an hour. Magic I tells ya 8(

That aside, doc did seem to be tending toward not stopping me pennies so will just appreciate the magic show and be glad I took a decent book :)
 
I'm all on my tod tonight, Mrs atm id staying over down the smoke after catching a show with an old friend so its just me and the 2 kids in bed, gonna take my little netbook up stairs with me in case I miss another thrilling installment.

I'm been having a quiet evening reading a new book on Japan and watching some Dexter, got some nice stuff lathered on my feet which are all wrapped up so it absorbs the magic ingredients =D Magic indeed!

Was just a half-hour interview with a bespectacled prunelike fella (kinda like a lankier, skinnier Penfold of a man really) who typed constantly and said virtually nothing. Was kinda disconcerting. Suspect it's to make the terrified benefit-recipient's uncomfortable enough to blurt out "I'm faking it all! I run marathons at weekends! I have several consultancy positions on FTSE boardrooms and am third in line for the throne so really don't need the tuppence ha'penny I scrounge off you and your kind :(".

Almost worked but I saw through the ploy and depressed the fuck outta him instead. Mental health issues are surprisingly contagious when left alone with 'em in a confined space for any length of time =D

Kate: Have been reading some Japanese books of late. Not books on Japan so much as translations of Japanese books. Blimey they get a tad bizzaro. Particularly enjoying a collection of Japanese sci-fi short stories. Have honestly never read owt like it in me life. None of that cyberpunk kinda stuff I'd expect from Japan. Just plain insane. First and only book of Japanese sci-fi short stories translated into English apparently. I can kinda see why cos it's properly nutso. I <3 it but can see how it maybe wouldn't catch on :D
 
I just woke up from thr 6-spb dession lasnnight and ny hesd is full of etizoam. Ican hardy walk without trtuiyying over shite. Might take sime more.

PS Before SHM gives me a hard time for turning EADD into Twitter the @ sign is the "at" sign and it was thus before twitter was a twinkle of a pain in your brown eye.
