Christopher Hitchins was chatting some serious shit in the commons committee on drugs... Apparently only poor people do drugs, so if we legalise them they will steal them?!

any link/written/cliff notes available to said ramblings, yet?

this has to be linked to addiction/criminal activity, no?

whut's the context re monied n poor? did he say drugs aren't a recreational passtime of the monied, or just that they don't pose a problem, or there's a moral difference?

I wanna know the context if poss.

True Sam, in a way it is nice that at least one member of me family understands me without ever judging me.
I should be thankful for what a good sister I have got,and I know that she never lets on to the rest of my family about me either.
She is a good sister and I am glad that I have her on my side.

Basically he made the statement that people who advocate legalisation or decriminalisation don't seem to realise that it won't make the problems of drugs disappear, because drugs will still cost money, and the people who want to do drugs are generally people with no money and no get up and go. So unless we give them away for free, they are going to steal like the currently do to get drugs. [edit] He failed to entertain, nor did any way suggest, the idea that in general drugs can be quite a middle and upper class pursuit. Then they garbled on about how skunk isn't like the weed back in the day (that they presumably smoked, and know isn't that bad), it's the most evil hard drug ever. (Slightly hyperbolic on the 2nd part).
 
I find Christopher Hitchins quite entertaining to be honest. He knows the majority of what he says is extreme and Jeremy Clarksonesque, he is basically just a troll. I do like the way he is so unappologetic. I think it is a reaction to the fact that there are so many TV pundits on the other side of the spectrum who say equally ridiculous shit with a straight face, yet for some reason they celebrated.

was at my cousins wedding, I stupidly didn't manage to stop myself from taking the remaining ethylphenidate that I had left so arrived pretty late in the end and I had to make myself presentable :sus: (etiz and some JD on the train did that and I was fine when I finally arrive, missed the ceremony, was there for the reception though. Was good to see tons of the family again. Ended up wangling a free bed at the hotel so stayed over and had breakfast with everyone this morning, came back and had a nap about midday till 5. Then watched a couple films.

you got through 100mg in a couple days 8o I've had to dab at my 250mg baggy because of the eph and stuff, want to get it into a solution soon so i don't have to dab random amounts of powder anymore.

Off back home tomorrow, coach leaving at 11am, has been nice to get away, not looking forward to work on monday though.

Got me confused about why its in your location section but maybe my bit of half arsed research has lead me to the wrong conclusion, i shall leave it there.

The biggest question for me is was the Guinness can the proper draft stuff or that horrible fizzy shit, the knife and wandering about trying to score H in the early hours sounds fairly standard but if you sinking to the depth of drinking this :-

Twelve hours of sleep, a wake and bake, a blue, a yellow and copious amounts of caffeine for me, in preparation for a day out wandering.

Jealous of the oxy, but it probably wouldn't help my motivation. :)
