^^ surely a pet has to go into quarantine for quite a long time when going abroad, I mean they don't even let you take certain foods into Australia or the states so taking a pet must be a nightmare!

Nice :D I don't know why jack russels are all the same, but so different if you get what I mean? The costs seem to be incurred when you shift continents, once you're over you can drive about with your dog wherever you like :D I'm not surprised it would cost 4 figures for Australia though, because human flights are expensive enough!

Yeah I know what ya mean. I've seen some of them half the size of mine both height and build. Some of them have really short legs! Yeah I reckon that probably is it, and as you say Aus is a long way away. Actually dying to go there myself one day, always wanted to since I was a kid.

Snow's wild round these parts. I left work at 5 (meant to finish at half 7 %)) & it still took more than twice as long as normal to get home. Fuck knows what it would be like now. The traffic was going so slow I got off at the top of my road & basically walked along beside the bus smoking a fag, I beat it to my house haha.

Just got a letter through from the "Fines Enforcement Unit"

A fine of £60.00 has been registered against you in this Court under Section 131(5) of the Antisocial Behavior etc. (Scotland) Act 2004. This fine is registered against you for FAILING TO PAY the fixed penalty issued by STRATHCLYDE POLICE (GLASGOW) detailed below...

They've kindly gave me 28 days from the "date of registration" to pay it. "Pay by 25th December 2011". Aye, Merry fucking Christmas ya cunts!!!
 
@ brimzy ... have you tested out your new telly yet?

Yesterday I checked out the one I got for my ma, which was an almost identical model to yours, and I was really impressed with it

I looked around for ages before buying this one because she wanted one that had a totally non-reflective screen, and most of the Plasma's & a lot of the LCD's were terrible for being uber glossy and almost mirror like, even with just a lamp on.

The screen on the Sony I got her is awesome though, and altho it's almost matt, it doesn't lose any contrast or wash out the colour like some of the matt ones do. I've got an old Dell laptop with a matt screen and the contrast is shite.
 
Just watching The Great Brittish Property Scandal on C4 +1. The average city in England seems to have about 13,000 empty houses, some of them with nobody living there for 8 years. In London over 70,000 houses unoccupied.. Yet we are paying security guards to stop squaters, or subsidising councils to knock down perfectly good houses when the housing register has never been so full of people looking for somewhere? What an absolute joke the government in this country is!

Yes it's insane. Dismantle the state and distribute resources democratically through local worker's councils, it's the only way!
 
Evening! I have had the most positve day I've had in a while. Got up, met a mate, got some important things sorted out, then went to the Marriot hotel for a free trial of the Leisure facilities. Sauna, steam room, Jaccuzi and pool, perfect for a body detox. Then we had a nice healthy meal, and a cheeky glass of wine.

I've been getting some verbal and written threats recently, ( from the 'friend' who I had to tell more than once that I wasn't interested in him in any other way apart from friends) things have turned nasty as I have cut him out of my life as he has shown a side I do not like. He knows it's my pay day at midnight/tomorrow, he said I owe him money (I do not) and that he's going to send some girls around to my flat to collect it, either tonight, or they will be waiting for me outside my flat all day on Tuesday (tomorrow) He's sending me messages like 'How's your windows, I can see your light is on' or 'Looks like your windows need cleaning' and other stalker like things. I'm on my own tonight, unless my mate stays with me, I'm feeling a little threatened.

Sounds like a proper dirtbag Cherry. He's almost certainly just trying to scare you, but could you not stay with a friend or have a friend round?

Edit: I see you've already considered that, think it would be good for your peace of mind!

This would certainly be more productive than the current government, I think in 5 years time this will be looked upon as a govt that made some terrible and contradicting decisions. Absolutely ludicrous that there's over 1 MILLION empty houses in the UK. Surely it would be more productive to fund local councils to renovate these houses so people can live in them. Rather than paying for NHS bills of people who become ill from being homeless. Or paying jobseekers for people who can't get a job because they have no address etc. It's flat out ridiculous!
