and yeah i knew loads of well gothy kids who are now totally 'normal' adults. i think it is a lot about teenage angst. a lot of why i like punk and hardcore is cos they make me feel understood, as an adult. i don't think my personality will ever change so drastically as for them to be unable to speak to me in that way anymore.

if that wasn't so utterly frustratingly sad i'd find it hilarious. in fact i still find it hilarious, i think russia has some bigger social problems than emos. that is just petty.

If there were any truth to the article it would be that goths were hardly countercultural and so had much fewer compromises to make as life rolled on. Most of the goths I knew growing up around the late 80s/early 90s worked as white collar slaves in insurance and finance companies. In terms of hedonism it didn't extend much further than a Silk Cut Mild and ribena in their pints of lager. Politically, they might own a few Sartre books as props but that was it. In contrast, both punks and "ravers" had philosophical and active countercultural agendas - something that most (but not all) compromise on as they grow older.

MSB reminds me of the hyperconformist stuff you mentioned, i read some of the stuff you sent me too, i hate agreeing with it, but i do!

I don't know any Goths anymore their were a few at skool , i know plenty of Punks many of them the original lot as well.

Perhaps paedo too.. ive got a 20 year old lad chasing me. I dont know whether to feel revulsion or flattery.

I don't dress in any way cos that don't mean shit really its whats in yer heart not what your wearing , cos of my bad days of H addiction i like to be quite smart , so i can get rid of the the stereotype of a what a Junky /ex junky looks like cos i don't look like that at all.

Anyone ever fucked their lungs up smoking mouldy weed? I smoked some 'thai' which smelt a bit fusty yesterday and I've got one fuck of a cough today. I know it's possible, just wondered if anyone had done it. I think it's probably paranoia but there we go, that's one of the side effects.

Could just be the smoker's cough kicking in at this time of year to be honest.

I don't identify myself with any of those or other genres now, maybe I just identify with being a middle-aged lady and am quite contented with that! Tribalism sounds like so much hard work...

I've had an awful day, forced into work to do a report deadline even though I'm signed off sick with a tummy thang and then a not nice experience with a brand new doctor, who questioned me relentlessly about my medical records :|

The social "group" thing was always a right laugh at school.

I'd be walking about with an earphone in, minding my own bizniz, when some little kids would shout "MOSHER!!" at me...
I then proceeded to tell them I was listening to some Hip-Hop at the moment, only for them to go quiet for a second and then shout "Hip-Hopper!" =D
Almost pissed myself.

Doesn't sound like a nice day at all Kate <3 I really, really hate having the 20 questions thing from GP's too. I want my meds, not to go through the past 8 years or whatever... I've lived through them already I don't want bloody reminding of them :|

Dentists are the worst of worst eh :| It definitely is lovely being a lady of a certain age, a really nice place to be :)....well as far as I can see, finally the age of acceptance.

You've nailed it on the head there - wonder if we have the same GP now! It was the addition of creative medical report writing about me that really took my breathe away :( To think that others like my employers could read that, at least I now know its not accurate.

The man has re-acquired Generation Kill, thinking I'd like it.

oooo .. dentist buddies. Ive got my 2nd app for my crown to be fitted tomorrow afternoon. 2 weeks ago was 40 mins of drilling and jaw molds, tomorrow should be the easy bit. considering it's really hard to get into an NHS dentist in my area due to shortages, my dentist fucking rocks and is a total gem. her old practice went private only so she left and found an even better NHS one to join and let all her patients follow her and register with her, so she's got a decent heart & ethics too

Im having a couple of fillings done so its going to entail injections drilling etc.. Might come home after and neck a few lyrica ,which im picking up a script for tomorrow, to soothe my poor nerves :D

They are digging up the main rd. a4 every night for the next 10 days tis one of the 4 main arterys of the city so a right pain in the rear.

Me ta lesser spotted BLer friend today n had a High old time . Terrible traffic though.
