Sleep well and get better sir. ;)

I took some Beechams before bed and they were non drowsy.... I'm a fooooooool for not reading the packet before I took it. Now it's probably placebo as I doubt the amount of caffiene in these things would be enough to keep me awake but I am now awake so signed on again for a bit until I feel tired again! School boy error I know! Great Mod example.... sack me now!

That's hillarious, actually made me laugh a bit. I can just imagine the sheer confusion going through your head.

Benzos and booze is a sure fire way to have serious blackouts. Saying that though, I find that a small dose of diaz is great for a hangover!

That's great that you've not been near a needle for a while mate. Hope you can save for what you need mate.

Hey Brimz will you qualify for a CCG? At work I'm currently trying to figure out how ****large london borough**** are going to spend the social fund money that we'll be getting from central government in a couple of years. I'm hopeful we'll be able to target it to the people who really need it.

....When I say hopeful, I mean doubtful....

I havew had stuff of Freecycle before but haven't got a van atm so tis difficult.
Its the fact that its a new build that i want new stuff as i really don't see myself moving again ever well for a long time .
Thanx:)

You can sometimes get next to new looking ikea ish stuff on freecycle and charity shops.. I know the look youre after I think.. kind of beechwood floors and swedish furniture? :D

haha , something like that , i went charity shopping yesterday in near by Keynsham n got some nice clothes , cxouldn't resist it , i'm a bit of a Charity Shop addict.

must be Budgie friendly as well;)

hadn't even occurred to me how you move if you don't have a car.

i don't have a car. but even when i moved abroad my parents came with me to help move in. they still do ridiculously huge amounts for me cos they get that i'm still a bit fucked on some of the basics and i'm so so so lucky for that.

good luck brimz, i really hope you get everything sorted!

I always go on gumtree and look for a man with a van. Usually the cheapest one will set you back about £30, and he'll help you lift all the heavy stuff too!

On a side note, am I being a bit dim here - but where have cherry and smackcraft gone lately?

grrrr. right, why the fuck am i sitting here breaking my balls trying to make it in the hard sciences, when i could literally just sit around making shit that doesn't even sound vaguely sensible up instead: like that goths grow out of it, but punks don't.

sorry but in my mid twenties, ok i'm not a typical punk, but i have been into this music long enough to know that i wont grow out of it. neither did nofx, leatherface or rancid and they're older than me. what a pile of absolute bollocks. how much i would love to start presenting my research with a made up, not remotely substantiated comment and move forward from there without once presenting a solid argument or empirical fact (ok there's one- they now have creches at goth festivals). also, very little of what he says about goths is specific to that subculture, so how does it explain anything?

i'm sure there are people on here who will agree ravers don't stop raving too... though thats just the byline, not the guys research, his research does need a premise to this effect for every other subculture.

rant over. grrrrrrr. lost all sympathy for the fact the government has slashed all funding for this type of research.

That is the biggest pile of shit research i've ever seen in my life! Of all the subgroups I know goths are probably the most likely to grow out of it... Being a goth seems to me to be primarily linked to teen angst. None of the goths I know stuck with it whatsoever. To be honest, apart from maybe scene kids, there is no group I can think of that would be more embarressing to be a part of beyond the age of 18 than 'goth'. Please tell me they didn't get paid to come up with that?!

yes, they get paid for it. with taxpayers money. and he's a deputy head of department, surrey must be a bit of a shit uni.... or is this just what sociology's like? if thats the case its sad cos there is a fuckload of maths specifically made to help statistical analyses of social data etc, so some people have worked really really hard to turn it into an empirically well justified form of enquiry.

and yeah i knew loads of well gothy kids who are now totally 'normal' adults. i think it is a lot about teenage angst. a lot of why i like punk and hardcore is cos they make me feel understood, as an adult. i don't think my personality will ever change so drastically as for them to be unable to speak to me in that way anymore.

brimz i think you have a lot more understanding of subcultures than this guy, do it!!!

what do Hip Hop fans do ? maybe i could make up some shit about that n get it printed ?

Hedonistic Goths , shirley theirs something wrong with that :\

They turn into Eastern Europeans and make millions of pounds? :D
