fuck work, somedays i wish i had no job..just fucked off..maybe this should be in the angry thread, anyways im bored and pissed off and im going to be broke for the next 2 weeks with rent coming up, am thinking fuck it, might have a blow out this weekend,no prospects of a holiday anytime soon and this same old routine is grinding me down :/ i want a spliff and many many bongs..am hungry but have no money to eat till i get home later..and no this isnt a poor me post, just ranting..anyway, anyone having a better day then me?

What is the sickness policy like at your work. At mine you get 6 months full pay off sick then after that you get another 6 months half pay off sick, then it goes to statutary sick pay which is pants. You could easily go to the doctor and get them to keep signing you off sick for a year, it's not uncommon for people to be off sick for extended periods of time with things like depression. In my last job I was off for 3 months in one go once because of it. Full pay the whole time too.

It used to be like that where I worked, when we were part of a large financial organisation, but its gone independant now and you to entitled to anything other than statutary:\

Public sector and big companies have a much better sickness policy but its slowly being erroded away.

I wish I got sick pay at my work because I'd be off like a shot, don't get a fucking penny. Work is pissing me right off, gonna crack up soon. Today was the first time in 3 months of working there that I've needed a drink mid week, work there is really getting me. :X

well, i am in my 4th city in 2 days and exhausted.

sorry to hear your troubles cherry, sounds awful, hope the crisis team are helpful when they finally get there, and find someone to cook you a meal!!!!

anyone got a clue how you moderate a forum that you can't even post in cos the server is too busy? ffs. i'm going to go and drink in a pub on my own. good times.

I think we are all getting that message, so posting is quite difficult. I suggest you pop off to the pub we can manage here !

I've got some sourcing I wanted to get done anyhow ;-)

wow, after a full hour of server is busy I get it back :X

I just ordered myself a blackberry on contract, with 14 months free on redemption. Looking forward to receiving it on friday :D

and now it is doing it again, over two hours now :X think I might have to give up on bl for tonight :|

Wow. If you're only able to make one post, make sure it's post number 666 and it refers to Nazis... :)

I can see everyone had the same problems yesterday evening. It's running like a dream this morning though. I suppose more problems are to be expected because of ongoing work. Such is life.

Cheers BCF!

Faced the neighbours yesterday with feelings of extreme dread. Thankfully,i was being laughed at,not with, big difference i know but thankfull i never overstepped the mark..phew.....fucking alcohol.........ruins me.

At least your working BKF.

Im sure theres many that would love to be working right now.

You can always find something positive out of a negative situation.

Too fukin true , i'm not even allowed to work , maybe my own fault but alot of the time i wish i could .

I just woudn't be a viable option for an employer , how do you go about explaining a 11 year gap on your C.v.

Do you know anyone who has run a business for a reasonable amount of time who you could get to give you a reference? Maybe you could do the odd day of labour on a farm just to get out and about or something? I was also under the impression that you could always just do a course at college and then explain to employers you fell into a bit of a rutt. I dunno...

an interesting and sad read, i know a few members have been affected by this: Benefits assessments causing 'fear and loathing' among claimants
The benefit system is constantly in the back of my mind causing dread. I've not heard from them for years, since I last went to appeal against the decision to cut me off after an assessment.
I'm on income support as I wasn't elligable for incapacity (which is fair enough even though I've been unable to work for.. I don't wish to count how long).
Still scared I'll be cut off at any time though.

In otter news, I'm hungover to fuck and got bad adrenaline running through my veins.
Hope everyone else is irie <3

ello ello, ahh what a beautiful day eh? shame im stuck in work..at least in 10 mins im off out to lunch in a nice italian restaurant..not paying of course ;) cainin for a bifter before hand though so i eat a mountain lol, but what can ya do, how is everyone? sorry havent read up the thread as this is a fleeting visit so hopefully noones been maimed or owt lol :P

Its really complicated , it would take ages to explain my situation n how i got their , but its far from ideal.
Alot of it is to do with mental health and addiction .

Labour was happy to put people with a sore foot on the sick because it lowered unemployment levels and made them look good.

... which was a continuation of Tory policy which they began in the eighties when they destroyed communities for fun. Except they were much more devious, throwing 'Welfare to Work' and other bogus schemes into the mix alongside it.

They don't "have to be" this rigorous at all. It'll merely serve to further marginalise already marginalised people. I'd be surprised if they even take a tiny slice off the benefits bill in the process.

Pure Tory bullshit, nothing more.

To be fair to the Tories Britain became much less industrialised and a worse place to be working class under Labour, who were actually elected under the banner that they were supposed to be 'for' the working classes. I know i'm bound to get a lot of flack for this, but this country would have been totally fucked if we'd kept on bending over for the unions, leaving mines open that were massive loss makers for our country whilst systematically offering workers there higher salaries than the private sector. If the mines were viable enterprises then the private sector would have stepped into snap them up, and it is only recently that a small handful of them have become viable again since energy prices have spiked.

Yeah I had sort of guessed, but it seems such a shame to just write off your life. You seem like a stand up trustworthy guy with a will to work, and if I had a job to give you I would. You'd probably have to save the high doses of benzos and H for after hours though ;).
