I must admit your army thread comment did hit some home truths.

I tend to worry too much (esp about money) and have been known to lose all hope thanks to the stuff.

As things stand, I'm OK.
Things are deffo looking up and I keep trying to remember that self respect is paramount & that life aint a joke.

Well we're all modern humans and will all worry about cash money dolla dolla at times - It's pretty much turned out to be natural these days.
But as long as you put your life before anything material you can be truly happy ;)

I actually 100% agree with the philosophy of 'the richest man is not he who has the most, but he who needs the least'.

Unfortunately I find it hard to practice when everything revolves around money.

I dunno I think ancient man probably worried about whether they'd catch a buffalo tomorrow and even if they did how many people would be injured doing it ? The trouble with money is that you don't even get the adrenalin rush these old timers must have got when hunting - unless you rob it.

When it comes to money and happiness, apparently it's down to the rich/poor divide (i.e. The amount of money between how poor the poor are and how rich the rich are). Which makes a great deal of sense really.

^ yes. if you can see people with more around you. you want more yourself. thats why i say things like 'adverts are designed to make you feel unhappy.' they aren't, they're designed to sell you shit but if you want that shit and can't have it you'll be depressed and if you don't want that shit you'll b depressed that people buy such shit.

its also why building massive estates of social housing is a bad idea, if no one around you has anything theres no belief you can have anything and no ambition to better personal situations.

morning all. so last night i legged it to uni at 8 o clock to restart some simulations which all had a generic error. i checked a mini mini version of my correction and it was fine but wasn't able to update the scripts remotely due to fuckoff firewalls plus no unix skills. none of them are running this morning and none of the data files they'd have made had they run properly are there.

needless to say this may be the earliest i've ever got to uni!!!

thought i'd arranged to talk to my housemate about the agreement yesterday. she didn't turn up. i'm going to say i've spoken to the owners of the house and no longer have permission to negotiate, which is kinda true. if she moves her boyf in she risks fines and eviction. i can't have been more clear, but polite, about not wanting him here, and gave her a chance to negotiate the terms, so i think thats fair.

Morning peoples,

My phone broke yesterday so I couldn't set my alarm for today, so I downloaded a computer alarm clock only to have it either not work this morning or me sleep through it. Not long been awake but am not going to turn up at work two hours late, I think I would get in more trouble for that than for just adding a day to my sick. I have always got in more trouble at work when I have been late than when I have been off sick. I guess that is because being late is something that you can fix but when you are off sick it is not a case of your mistake (although it often is the case for me)

Same again for me Mugz. I'd text my manager saying I was still not well & would try to make it later today. Now I've decided what's the point, might as well just stay off all day now. I'm gonna get into the same amount of shit for taking yesterday off as I will for taking two days off. I've got to actually get the head down & stop pulling pointless sickies after today though, gonna calm it with the booze n drugs big time over the summer which hopefully make it easier

I managed to rescue what was almost certainly a sacking from this job previously, heading the same way again so I need to fucking stop it now. It's pretty clear that I don't want the job so I can't motivate myself to go but I just need to do it.

Looks like we both need to do the same thing, there is no doubt that at least half, if not three quarters of my sick days have been drug related. Gonna try and calm it down myself too and only take any stims if I have the monday booked off work too.

You defo seem to need a change of direction, fuck putting yourself through all that stress and misery. If I wasn't working my job for the sole reason of saving up and leaving the country either to travel or to live / work abroad I'd be going out my mind. I'm close to going out my mind as it is. 8(

Nah, he's never been sectioned, and it's unbelievable really.

To think I saw this coming a mile off and tried everything in my power to help him.
As did others.

Why can't mental people be helped from hurting themselves/others unless something ridiculous happens first?

it appears my housemates boyf has acquired keys to the house... still no agreement as we agreed to discuss it yesterday and she wasn't about. just gonna wait til she's paid the next rent now cos i aint negotiating.

Tell them yourself to wise the fuck up or they will be. I found this a good wake up call for anyone in the past. Tell them to lay off the drink and drugs for a few months and get their head clear, it wont fix things entirely, but it'll do them a world of good and save having them sectioned. Harsh wake up call to reality reality, but in some cases that's really what they actually need.

Well, like Chinny said, you did what you could but sometimes there's nothing that can be done unless they themselves choose to change.
And sometimes it takes a massive shock to the system for that to be initiated, unfortunately :\
When in certain mindsets, unwritten (and written) rules aren't even in their minds. In the same way people with Sadistic traits cannot comprehend empathy etc. I suppose.... :\

Fuck her. Seems like she's not respect for anyone else so why should she expect any from anyone else? Especially someone who's opened their house to her!

Unfortunately everything has been done bar calling the men in white coats.

He even admitted to being mental just a few weeks back, but has since proclaimed he's OK again.

I just gotta sit back and watch the horrors unfold. :| :(

It's too much to write here, but he got beaten up earlier and I worry he'll go overboard on seeking some sort of revenge.
