Evening peeps! :)

Had a really good day at the "Swop stuff and eat Cake" event ^_^
Lots of people came, good acoustic acts, me and my mate played some dubbed out beats + twinkley electronic stuff and random terrible tunes =D
Saw people I've not seen in ages and I think it went really well :) If so, we'll have a constant night to play heavier stuff at and generally have a great time at!

tekken hows your millionaire brother in law taking the news about all the big online poker sites being raided by the FBI today? Think I'd want to get as much money as possible out there.

but yeah he was lucky as fuck! didn't speak to him about it myself but my sister mentioned it the other day, he already had a lot of it out but apparently was very close to losing a lot of money, he had just got rid of lots of old usernames.. only changed em because they were still under his mums and had not set up new ones when these raids happened 8o
 
But he got all his money out? I'd never keep large sums of money in a gambling or poker site, be too scared it just went AWOL one day.
 
as far as I know he has, and he just by chance had deleted all his old usernames with which he made most of his fortune and had not set up any new ones yet, pretty sure all the money was already in banks and being managed by an accountant.. he's probably a target for the feds just as he's gone public so they know he has made so much online but don't see how they could take it off him, don't know much about online poker or the raids in question though?

met him proper now an he's actually a class guy, not boring even if he doesn't drink much or do any drugs, very sharp and witty.. should be going into Lisbon at some point this week with him, my sis and some of her friends :)

he's Portuguese, so none of his money was affected at all.

Nobody has lost money, it's just not available to withdraw currently for US members. Neither are they allowed to play The rest of the world is business as usual.

USA members will be able to get funds off FTP/stars shortly anyone outside the US can currently play and withdraw.
 
oh so its totally sweet then, my sister made it sound like he was worried but that was just as it happened perhaps before all the details came out.. even if it was all members that were unable to withdraw he would still have his winnings, wouldn't be smart to keep it all in a poker site at all and as I know he has an accountant so I'm sure he keeps it in le bank

ANYWAY much as I need money right now, it still stinks :p

you need to have enough on there to absorb the natural swings of the games you play. ppl who play the highest stakes available will have 100's of thousands or maybe even a couple of mill. Those are few and far between though.

Got my laundry on the line, another load in the machine, breakfast has been consumed so I think I'll treat myself to some snuggle telly in bed.

feel vaguely refreshed and ready for the day. spent about 3 hours yesterday discovering that i really can't do what i wanted to work-wise, or not on my laptop, but think its an issue with lack of power in my software. no idea what to do now, could risk shelling out for something else that does symbolic computation to find out thats not powerful enough either. or could come up with a completely new plan.
 
Well done to everyone having a productive morning.

I made it into work, but while I'm not really feeling hungover as such, I think my body is trying to tell me to lay off the booze for a bit. It's going to be hard, especially as my local Sainsbury's has begun to stock Brooklyn Lager. :\

Oh well, it's not the worst. The sun's periodically making its presence felt though, and it's a four-day week too. So small mercies and all that.
