But that only caters for the 'people don't want to see this', it doesn't cater for 'this is a discussion which should be allowed to happen'.

Putting all debate into one thread is second-class treatment. Putting it all into MSB versus The World is insulting, even though it's humorous.
 
I quite like your light hearted side MSB. I can't comment on the controversial stuff as I don't really get involved (except perhaps now, because the topic is concerning bluelight), I usually glaze over the other stuff. It is frustrating when half the forum flairs up, and then the other half complain about how unsightly the flair up is. I'd rather it never happened at all but since that's not going to happen, the best solution seems to isolate the incidences and correlate them into a thread where only the people to whom it concerns need see.

I am happy to continue posting contrasting viewpoints that will obviously offend people's sensibilities, I have been calling for a long time for the group abuse to stop because it is unnecessary. I'm not expecting the clique to ever like me, I would just prefer it if I didn't read half a dozen insults and inaccurate comments about me, even after i've taken a little break to see how that would calm things...

Don't say, go to a debating site. I might as well say, everyone else go to 4chan. I think, I've never been ;)
 
Some of you lot need to stop being quite so sensitive online. The likes of Sam and Albion are cunts anyway :D

I do kind of get why MSB is getting wound up in all fairness. I do not share any of your political views whatsoever by the way, but I have kind of noticed you do get sniped at a fair bit, and I've hardly been on the past 2 weeks bar the last couple of days just picked it up over a few threads. Fair enough we all have different political views, but the clashing of opinions IMO has actually caused a few threads to turn a bit shit lately. That UAE being the pick of the bunch.

These are just my opinions on the matter though.

Compared to your bile, does it even register? Hardly. Though if you're that sensitive I'm sorry. And as for the post count, I'm a mod. We have to post pretty often, it comes with the territory.

It's Gibberings. People come here for light-hearted banter. We've had at least four or five people calling for an end to all this bullshit. People who've presumably since done the wise thing and left.

Debate is normal and expected, but loggerheads are what ruffles feathers on both sides of the fence and ruffles the spectators too. That's the sort of stuff I'd rather allocate a thread for, like a 'loggerheads thread'. It's no different to a 'joke thread', 'mdpv thread', etc. Seems preferable to being ambushed by a bunch of people at loggerheads about something random in a thread about fish or whatever (perhaps we should get a fish thread too).

Loggerheads is a bit subjective, but I know what you're saying.

Why one big loggerheads thread, though? Sometimes, loggerheads may resolve, but that won't happen if it's in the loggerheads thread.

Is there a limit to the number of threads? What's the exact problem here?


By the way, those who come into "serious debate" with "bored" memes are every bit as irritating for the debaters as the debates are for the yawners. I know you know that already though and it's the reason you do it ;)

Loggerheads can come up randomly in all sorts of threads, a loggerheadmegathread is not the answer, just toning down the logging in all other threads would be the answer, maybe you mods should create a few extra rules for EADD and then you can give out warnings when things get too much and I'm sure that would stop all of the issues that are being discussed here, or at least slow it down.

I only started coming on here in the evenings a week before I was modded up. Before that it was just a distraction from my day job.

Admittedly I've made up for it since with some spectacular post-whoring, I'll give you that.

Yeah your bile over the time i've been posting on here has been soooooo much more pleasant than mine hasn't it? This is just another example of you being deliberately antagonistic again.

I think what you should do is an EADD BEEF thread. If a topic goes OT tit for tat for say 5 posts, move that part over or something? I am happy, and will sign upto, being modded if any of my comments become too nasty/insulting/inaccurate, as long as the anti-MSB grouping is held to the same standard, because that is the behaviour I would like to see stop.
