I'm guessing PTCH received a "Separation Payment" in return for his resignation, to be fair it's often a much better arrangement than "Managing people out of the business"
 
Mate of mine just been made redundant from the building society he's been working at for 15 years.

To be honest the fat fuck needed a boot up the arse to get him out of that shitty job, but i worried about him..wife, teenage son, mortgaged to the max etc....and as has been said, is a very very bad time to be looking for work.

Crackheed, you'll land on yer feet, you're that sort of person. You deserve it. :D

atm23 - I didn't resign. I have actually been sacked. But, despite what Mugz thinks, I won't mention this at any future job interviews & it most certainly won't be on my reference.

Knockando is pretty much spot on.


In my last job I was told on the quiet that I was about to be sacked & therefore it would be better to just leave. That's what I did. Turned out that it was only better for them as they then didn't have to go through the process of sacking me. It didn't benefit me at all to quit.
 
The new Spiderman film, judging by the trailers, doesn't look all that great...The first (new) one was the best by far, with the Green Goblin.

The new Batman one should be semi-decent though. The Spiderman ones are just getting worse each time. Character development is boring and way too much action

I'm not keen on the Spiderman or Batman films, Batman ones are better though...

Brilliant time flying kite just now, boy really getting the hang of it, is only a small power kite I got him, but it's enough to drag all 3 stone of the skinny little thing across the field when a gust takes it....accompanied by loads of squealing and OMG's when he's got it back in control again...

The dog is fuckin ace at football too, I know nobody will believe it, but he is fucking amazing...

I'm gonna video the dog next time we go out.

I thought this too. Yet I was given a new job on thursday, just told they'd phone and give me my hours.. no word by sunday.. phone them, "oh sorry I have spoken to some of your previous employer and you are not employable", of course me having a short fuse at the best of times went straight in next day, tried to be nice, already had legal advice that a) you can't be offered a job without them checking referrences first, b) your employer can't give a referrence that bad, worst they can say is "no comment" and c) all referrences even if over the phone must legally be emailed to the prospective employer aswell.

I hit her with all these facts, she said "I have no referrence, am I not allowed to change my mind? I was more looking for waitress", so descrimination was my comeback, and the fact that 4 out of the 5 of her staff were Polish, so was she. Don't really know what I can do legally about this now, as I couldn't get to see the referrence as she denied it. Wish I had recorded the orginal interview, the following phonecall and my visit. I could probably sue them the procedures were so bad.
 
Your beef should be with those issuing the reference, not her really

I'd talk to them and let them know all the legal stuff you just got made aware of. Let them know what you know and that what they did was illegal etc. Spell out the correct process to whomever writes the references. Let them know that you'll follow it up in the future if they fuck it up for you again

Yes this would be the idea, but I have no idea where it came from. I've spoken to the 2 most likely previous employers and both are saying it wasn't them, I believe them aswell.

Not been on here in a while but for once I actually commend your efforts EADD, few cracking threads in there! Think it's time for a whiskey to celebrate my unemployable genius! Albion sorry man but that was rubbish, anyone got any fresh indie/rock tunes? I've listened to almost every live set of anyone playing at creamfields in anticipation, need a change of genre.
