Yeah ants are amazing actually...Their social structure is so similar to our own it's downright scary. Also the way they pick up their fallen brethren and carry them back to the nest is very noble.
 
I'm pretty sure they carry them back to the nest to eat! Waste not want not and all that. Although the next time the blade of my spade carves through the side of an underground nest I'll have a good look for a 'chapel of the fallen' with little plaques and tiny wet handkerchiefs all over the floor.
 
It would be crazy being shrunk down to ant size and having to hide from an army of them trying to eat you, or just waking up deep inside their nest and having to escape.

Is it actually a good game or just a heavvyyyy nostalgia trip? I've been playing various old adventure games on my phone (using SCUMM) and something new would be welcome.

I never got past the bit with the circus elephant fairly near the start of the game. It was very challenging considering I could barely read or write at the time. I have fond memories of it though, before The Lion King and Aladdin games took over my world...Then Dune II.

I should have been outside being a carefree adolescent but that game and Sensible Soccer were my life for a while. Along with Guns N' Roses.
 
Oh dear, I've just sent my girlfriend a text of a sexual nature, and almost simultaneously got an email saying 'btw don't worry if you don't hear from me for a bit, my phone's being fixed by the IT department.'

Another ant fact to distract me- in the Amazon there is a species which doesn't have a nest. They spend their whole day roaming around in a pack, and at night larger ants link legs up a tree, creating a kind of living string bag in which the rest of the colony sleep.
 
Those big lumbering red tanks were just what a teenage boy always wanted. Or maybe it was just a certain type of teenage boy. The self-righteous Atreides bastards pissed me off with their lame weaponry.

Knowing you used to play as Harkonnen is like getting a Master Mason's handshake. Respect. ;)

Atreides had fucking annoying minigun helicopters that flew round your base like little flies...But Harkonnen had fuck off HUGE FLAME THROWING DEATH TANKS.

Ordos were pretty cool as well, didn't they have those mind-control vehicles?
 
I never got far enough with Ordos to properly inspect their arsenal myself so memories are more hazy. I was always reluctant to use them because I thought it was like voting Lib Dem or something.
