*cuddles* dont worry about it Dan. I'm sure you didn't mean it... Its hard not to run with the crowd ay
but thankyou so much for the hugs :)

( its gratifying to see a conscience :) )

I had a theory, dunno if it's already been thought of or been proven true, but these binges which result in psychosis or whatever... could they be a cause of you staying awake to the point that the areas of your brain which are activated during dreaming switch on, which blurs the lines between dreaming and reality?

The psychosis is down to more than that...I've started seeing things after the very first hit of PV long before any sleep has been deprived. And the paranoia is not typical with dream states. It's having so much dopamine flooding about your head & the fight/flight system constantly wired that does more of a number on the amount of psychosis one feels. Sleep deprivation knocks down mental blocks that would otherwise keep the worst of it at bay...Same way it knocks down immunity and gives you spots/scabs that never heal.

When i used to go on silly meth binges, at around night 5 or 6 i would have these strange dream flashes where for a split second it'd feel like i was asleep and dreaming. But as soon as it happened, it was Over and I'd snapped out of it. I often wondered if it was my brain going to sleep for a split second every now and then because i wouldnt let it go to sleep properly.

That makes sense. It's switching off the natural inbuilt filters of shit going on around you that stop you from going a bit off on one in real life, yeah? A bit like when you take a psychadelic and all of a sudden you can hear people talking outside as if they're right next to you. Your body always possesses the power to be that hyperaware. Have you ever had your ears syringed?

Like at the end of a heavy sesh where you're in bed and you close your eyes and upon closing your eyes you instantaniously open them on the couch in your living room, and you can't tell which reality is the correct one for fucking ages?

I haven't had my ears syringed. I thought they stopped doing that?

My mum has and claims one ear has never been the same since.

Nah you just go down the GP surgery and book an appointment with a nurse after pouring olive oil spray in your ears for a week. Once they've been cleaned out you can hear really really far. Like you can hear people's footsteps outside and stuff. Don't get it done in the winter though because the air gets in your ear oles and it's not nice. My nan puts cotton wool in her ears to stop that happening, even without getting them syringed. She thought she had gone deaf in one ear for like 3 years and just left it. Turned out it was a piece of cotton wool that had just gone too deep and gotten left there, she can hear as right as rain now lol.

I've used Audiclean in the past and it worked a treat, took a good few treatments though but painless and hassle free
