Random DXM questions: The Higher Ground

Thank god, because I'm loving this stuff.

Although the "truth serum" effects have almost gotten me in trouble from time to time!

To say that its safe because its in medicine is a misconception.
It is possible to over do it even with medicine.
They make childrens tylenol but that doesnt mean it doesnt effect the liver if you take too much.

Im not trying to discourage anyone from taking DXM. In fact i think its fine to take even more than 200mg.
But the original question was about how often he can take it safely, and on that i have no knowledge.
In the spirit of harm reduction id say no more than once a week, even better if its kept to once a month.
That way you can also keep your tolerance down.

Humans and monkeys are not at risk of these changes because of differences in metabolism between rat and primate brains. Ketamine can block excito-toxicity (brain damage due to low oxygen etc.) but it can also excite the brain at low doses by switching off the inhibitory system. This is not damaging in primates because ketamine also binds to a wide range of receptors which shut down this form of excitement before structural damage can result.

Ketamine’s promiscuity greatly improves its safety relative to MK801, which binds very specifically to the NMDA receptor complex. Rats have rates of brain metabolism which are twice as high as primates to start with. It is because of this higher base rate of excitement that ketamine causes over-excitement in rats at doses below those at which it activates shut-down systems. NMDA receptors must be blocked for at least 2 hours to cause reversible changes and at least 24 hours to produce some cell death, but ketamine has a short half-life (about 20 minutes in rats) so many injections are needed, over a prolonged period, to produce persistent change (Farber et al. 1998). Reversible toxic changes in the rat appear at 40mg/kg of ketamine and stop at 100mg/kg, with no further changes (Sharp et al. 1994). Attempts to produce toxic changes in monkeys were a total failure at 10mg/kg i.m. ketamine (Sharp 1998).
 
Tips For A Good DXM Trip?

I'm interested to do some since it's Spring Break and I'm not sure on what will be the right dose for me since it's my first time.

I weigh like 130-140 lb so will that have a factor on dosage?

Tell me what would be a good dosage and brand to buy from...plus the setting where I should do it and what I should do when tripping.

PLUR.
 
I weigh 120lbs, and 300mg with a couple cans of red bull to further dilate pupils (my theory, that is) produces nice open and closed eye visuals.
 
get the robo capsules...you dont have to chug shit and it's pure DXM with some liquid in them..no real fuss...but i highly suggest 4-aco(motherfucking)DMT....yeah, i call it the "4 aces"
 
DXM is not simply a dissociative. It is also a psychedelic, unlike other dissociatives. So, in theory, increased pupil dilation may help the visual cortex produce enhanced visuals. I find Methylphenidate causes synergy with DXM as well.
 
I'd start with a 300mg dose if you're new to DXM, but I find 450-600 produce the best effects for me. Increase visuals by being in a pitch black environment (I only get visuals like this) and some ambient music works wonders. Weed intensifies it a fair bit. I live in Aus so the ONLY brand I can get is Robitussin DX Dry Cough Forte....Cherry flavoured *shoots self*. Maybe watch a sci-fi or something space related before hand :P love the space based nature of my DXM trips, so epicly beautiful
 
If you can't find gel caps theraflu strips are the next best thing as far as getting it down, I just stack em all up pop em and rinse out my mouth doesn't have that foul aroma Robitussin has

I've done LSD before, and it sucked ass.

I appreciate it's powers yes but a person like me could not handle those effects.

Maybe you dosed to heavy or something , LSD provides a much smoother trip then DXM in my experience. I love them both though and Id suggest you start with a dose around 300mg's and smoke some pot an hour after you take the DXM. For me it enhances my visuals and counter acts any nausea that might be caused by the robo , Happy Tripping =D
