Quick Questions

Methadone pills past exp date

I've had these 3 10mg methadone pills for ages. They expired in oct 07, would they still be ok to take or do they really expire?

Also if I were to indulge, is it ok to smoke weed on?

If you were to indulge weed would be fine.

As far as the expiration date, with all meds you are supposed to throw them away when past expiration. Its too tough to tell if they are still ok. We don't know how they were stored or if they were in any direct light. The most common thing that would happen would be the drug would become less potent. Other than that I couldn't find anything but I still recommend you just toss em and forget it. Better safe then sorry right?

Can I ask why you had them? Are you a recovering addict or just a recreational user?

They are fine, but if you have no tolerance to methadone, do not take all three at once.

-> Quick Questions

this was basically my example verbatim lol

Most pills are OK for years; the main difference between new and old will be potency.

Word up Bob. After a little research I'm finding opiates especially don't turn toxic or anything overtime. They might end up weaker but, that seems to be the only possible negative

^Yeah, I don't think there are many that degrade into something harmful, at least not for a really, really, long time.

Ok, Recently (past few months) Iv gotten myself addicted to heroin, Im going to college in another country soon so Im gonna have to break this habit fast, at least get over the physical withdrawals. I dont want to go to rehab or anything like that in this country (China) because they are basically prisons.

My question is: If I told my parents and the family doctor about this, would she (the doc) be able to help me out through the withdrawals by prescribing methadone. subs, clonidine or do I have to find a doc that specializes in the field?

THanks

Oxy Every Week

I've been taking oxycodone every week for about a month now. I take around 30-40mg once a week and then wait a full week before I take anymore, sometimes I take it two days in a row but I always wait a week before doing it again. I know this stuff can get you addicted quick before you even realize it but is waiting a week in between doses gonna prevent that? I don't wanna stop one day and then realize I am fiening for more pills.

30-40mg doesent sound like to big of a dose, so it doesent sound like you have to high of a tolerance, which is good. i would still be careful though. although you might only be taking it once or twice a week right now, the shit can sneek up on you hella fast. its so easy just to say "fuck it, ill just do every damn day".
be careful bro

Another question, I have gone through the process of shooting(IV) maybe around 10 times so. So you can see that I'm not very experienced.

The problem is, almost every time I shoot, I get a small lump right there where the needle goes in. Iv missed a few times but lately I think Iv been doing it right, I mean the high comes on in less than 15 seconds, and I get some sort of a rush. Which pretty much confirms that I didn't miss. Still, I get this lump, it even happens when I just stick the needle in and register without even shooting the dope.

It basically looks like blood pooling under my skin(because of the vein being punctured). Sometimes the vein looks like it's swollen or somthing. The lump usually subsides in a day or two and then turns into a nasty looking bruise.
My question is does anyone have any advice on how to avoid this(other than not shooting). For example shooting techniques and maybe some insight as to why this happens.

Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

DXMMonster: I would just go to a Suboxone doctor. There's craploads around every major city, but not every doctor is allowed to prescribe them. They probably don't want to get involved in that either, so the most they would prescribe you is clonidine, if anything. But you can probably get that from the Suboxone doctor as well.

As for your injection technique, are you moving your needle around a lot once you're in the vein? How many tries does it take you before you register? I'm guessing you're scraping up the walls of your veins and that's what is causing the bruising. Either that or you could just bruise really easily. Do you bruise easily in general?\

what are benzos

Quick question, I see multiple members of this community mentioning benzos, I know the classification of the drug, but is there a specific one that people refer to?

Like Valium, or something like that?

^Yes, I do bruise easily in general so I guess that has something to do with it. As you said I might also be moving the needle around too much, probably because I'm still kinda nervous with this technique, altho I'm now comfortable enough that I dont shake every time I shoot..

Thanks alot Sturnam

I've been prescribed Klonopin for a year and a half now which is a benzo.

The benzo family consists of fast acting and long lasting benzos.

Short Acting: (Most commonly abused):

Ativan
Xanax

Long Lasting:

Klonopin
Valium

They slow down neurons from firing too fast in the GABA portion of your brain, therefore relieving anxiety, tension, insomnia, etc. It's like a tranquilizer basically. I've seen people get "high" from these and they end up blacking out/robbing people/doing something stupid.

As an anxiety sufferer, my klonopins just relieve my anxiety and nothing more. I thought I'd mention W/D can be hell with benzos, worse than opiate withdrawal.

Hope this helps!
