⫸STICKY⫷ Questions for Bluelight's New Members!

Not new either but I'll share.

First discovered BL probably around 2002 or shortly after? (jesus im old). Hard to say specifically because it's been so long. I had a few different handles that I'd pop in to ask a question, but was never able to remember my names or passwords. I may have been a little more self conscious of security and would use throw away accounts. So I spose in regards to the first question, i maybe went a year or two between discovering BL and creating an account. I probably went years between posts as well.

How I came to find BL was I am sure general web search/research. I've always been pretty fascinated with psychoactive substances and before BL, i was a heavy erowid user. The site wasn't super relevant to me when I was younger, because I assumed I would never have a chance to try half of the compounds I have. Bluelight became very relevant to me around 2006, which is around the time I discovered 2C-B. I also remember getting more involved when methylone first appeared, because I was trying to figure out what it was. It was originally marketed to me as legal ecstasy called honey dew and I had no idea what it really was.

I was relatively drug naive back when I originally joined. I'm not even sure I had taken MDMA at that point, but probably had taken mushrooms/weed/alcohol/lsd. At this point I've probably tried close to 100 different psychoactives.

Bluelight is where I've come over the years to learn about relatively obscure compounds, that for many years, there just wasn't a lot of info available. I also remember being sad 2002 because I thought I had taken all the drugs and would never get a chance to try peyote/mescaline. Fortunately I was wrong.

Question- when did BL even first come out? And why is it called bluelight? Someone told me it's because under blue lights, you cant see veins and in certain clubs they would use blue lights to prevent people from injecting things...

Hey everyone - welcome to Bluelight!

Sit down, get comfy and stay a while.

If you have the time, we'd love to know a bit more about how you got here. Feel free to answer as many questions as you'd like - no pressure. But these answers will help Bluelight get a better sense of our community and where Bluelight sits in their drug use trajectories.

Here we go...

1. How long was it from first browsing Bluelight to joining up as a member? Weeks, months, years?
2. Do you remember how you came to find Bluelight? Was it from a web search, from a referral from another website, from word of mouth, from social media, or some other way?
3. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what drugs had you used prior to that - including psychoactive prescription drugs, alcohol, cannabis? Had you already tried powdered drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, ketamine, MDMA powder, etc? or not yet?
4. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what routes of administration had you tried prior to that? E.g. snorting, injecting, other ROAs?

If you have any questions for US, please let a moderator know!

Hi all. Brand New here. First day actually. I'm originally from FL, lived in NOLA, and Indiana for short periods of time. Moved to New England in 99. Just came back to FL about a year ago to be closer to family. I haven't really settled down yet. I've been traveling all over the Northeast and central West Coast of FL. I'm beginning to look for a place of my own. Some place to settle and create some roots. I only do one drug so my doc is meth.

1. How long was it from first browsing Bluelight to joining up as a member? Weeks, months, years?

I discovered bluelight and became a member in the same day. I found myself wanting to answer some of the threads I saw and the only way to do that was to join. So here I am.

2. Do you remember how you came to find Bluelight? Was it from a web search, from a referral from another website, from word of mouth, from social media, or some other way?

I was looking up how to reclaim meth from bong water and your site came up in an incognito Google search. I thought it looked interesting so I lurked around for about an hour until I joined.

3. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what drugs had you used prior to that - including psychoactive prescription drugs, alcohol, cannabis? Had you already tried powdered drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, ketamine, MDMA powder, etc? or not yet?

I am 48 years old. I started with pot at 12. LSD at 16, cocaine, crack, ecstacy, ghb, heroin, Xanax, any benzo really, Crystal meth, alcohol, pain meds,. I think the only things I haven't really messed with are things like bath salts or whatever you can get in gas stations, or research chemicals. I had 17 years of sobriety when I was raising my kids. I relapsed when their father passed. Now I do 1 drug. Meth. I also take scripts for various health reasons. Kpins and eszopiclone are the only controlled substances. But as far as drugs go, most of my experience was early on. I grew up in the club scene in Tampa/Orlando from 94 on. Lots of drugs. Lots of love. Lots of fun.

4. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what routes of administration had you tried prior to that? E.g. snorting, injecting, other ROAs?

As far as ROAs go, it's pretty much smoking, snorting (previous) or eating for me. I've never injected anything. My veins are so bad I usually go thru at least 3 people to get an IV started in the emergency room. They've told me I have the veins of an 80 year old since I was in my 20s.

Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. Figured I'd answer one of these threads first before I ask for advice, help and support.. of course, I'll try to return the favor. Anyway, to begin:

1. I've been browsing bluelight for years.. I'd guess around 7 years.
2. I found bluelight through a websearch.
3. The drugs I have tried prior to findings bluelight where marijuana, alcohol, mushrooms, LSD, MDMA(like one time), cocaine(never liked it), adderall (I have a prescription), benzos and prescription opioids. I believe that I found out about cold water extraction here, and ways to potentiate opioids. Not yet had done heroin/fentanyl. Never done meth, crack, ketamine, PCP, or DMT. I'll probably get more into this in future posts.
4. ROAs include smoking(just marijuana), ingesting prescription drugs and THC edibles, and snorting. I do not use IV. I hate needles.. a lot.

So there it is.. my intro post. I'm sure I'll be elaborating on these in future posts. Until then, thank you for reading. Hope to hear from you soon.

1. How long was it from first browsing Bluelight to joining up as a member? Weeks, months, years?

Strangely enough I have actually been lurking for years. I think I might have found a version of this site back in the newsgroups days. Just know when I have a thorny medicine issue I can search for Bluelight and you guys, and this amazing fount of knowledge pops up. I am a PM patient with a system that is so genetically screwed that almost know one in the medical community wants to do the work of dealing with me. So I do. With the help of you guys. A lot of help from you guys.

2. Do you remember how you came to find Bluelight? Was it from a web search, from a referral from another website, from word of mouth, from social media, or some other way?

Sociology class put me on a search. Was going to do a paper on a segment of drug culture. I ended up not writing anything because I didn't feel comfortable talking about people who were in the thick of it. Didn't seem right to try and score an A off of this site. (Studied LARPers instead.)

3. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what drugs had you used prior to that - including psychoactive prescription drugs, alcohol, cannabis? Had you already tried powdered drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, ketamine, MDMA powder, etc? or not yet?

Sorry for the length of this, in advance. Probably about to out myself, don't care. It's not like I have a lot in the hope department these days. I have a genetic condition that is so unique that there have been about 300 possible cases of people like me that have ever been documented. So everything has been tried on me. Most things bounce off of me. Including Fentanyl (medical usage) which has no analgesic effect. Trammadol sends me straight to PW. No one knows why. Weed? I projectile vomit. All mental health drugs have some nightmare side effects. Wellbutrin is tolerable. Gabapentin? I bleed from the eyes. Oxycodone will have some effect, but I don't know that I have ever felt anything close to euphoria. Never nod. Sleep about 2-3 hours a night so when I do sleep it's more exhaustion than anything. And no, none of the fun stuff works on me there either. Fun fact. I have woken during every surgery I have had. (The oral surgery one is a particular favorite story of mine.)

4. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what routes of administration had you tried prior to that? E.g. snorting, injecting, other ROAs?

Heh, I just swallow. Anyway. Have I tried snorting? Doesn't work. And I only have part of a colon due to surgery so I am not even sure how THAT method would work.

Sorry for the ramble. I am an overly educated smart-ass who hopes I can add something to the community. (I was a multi year caretaker for someone with multiple cancers who passed due to it. My medical knowledge is extensive in certain areas.)

Z.

1. How long was it from first browsing Bluelight to joining up as a member? Weeks, months, years?
12 years
2. Do you remember how you came to find Bluelight? Was it from a web search, from a referral from another website, from word of mouth, from social media, or some other way?
I can't remember exactly but I think I must have been referred here from Erowid. Circa 2009 I started diving down the RC rabbit hole and was spending a lot of time on Erowid and drugs-forum so imagine I found out about this place through one of them.
3. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what drugs had you used prior to that - including psychoactive prescription drugs, alcohol, cannabis? Had you already tried powdered drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, ketamine, MDMA powder, etc? or not yet
I'd consumed MDMA and cocaine a handful of times and was regularly taking methylone and mephedrone and I drank and smoked weed most days. Oh and Ritalin as I've had a script since I was 9. I never really abused that though. After the RC bans in the UK I moved away from using RCs and from 2012-2020 only rarely used recreational drugs outside of cannabis and alcohol, mainly because I didn't have a hookup.
4. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what routes of administration had you tried prior to that? E.g. snorting, injecting, other ROAs?
Oral and snorting.

Hey everyone. I have been reading posts on BL for over fifteen years. It has been incredibly useful and has probably been my main source of information to avoid dying. I have had a lot of sources and have been more careful than some of my fallen brethren. So thank you all. There are some members that I feel like I know pretty well without actually communicating with them.

I think it was a friend that told me about BL. At the time there were a couple of other sites - pill report and drug forum. I haven’t bothered to check them out.

When I first started reading on BL I had tried cannabis, speed, MDMA, cocaine, ketamine, LSD, mushrooms, codeine, dihydrocodeine, diazepam, lorazepam, alprazolam, tramadol. I think that was it. At the time when I was 17 (2007) I was using cannabis and ketamine daily and would have some sort of combination of party drugs every weekend. The use of BL at the time was not often and just to find some information. In later years I used it for harm reduction but also to read things that addicts similar to me were writing for catharsis. The staff members on BL are all awesome and I think must have a massive impact on people.

ROAs at that time were just smoking and snorting. I had a sniffing fixation for many years.

I am hoping that I will be able to help some people too. I know a lot about staying (relatively) safe with compulsive use of ketamine, benzodiazepines and opioids. I have not used heroin, ketamine or alcohol in just over six years. I did four years completely clean. Then a year or so on poppy pod espresso/tea. I got off that and for the past 8 months been limiting my use to pharmaceuticals after I started to get opioid prescriptions for pain. So using morphine, tramadol, DHC, amitriptyline, promethazine daily and pregabalin and zopiclone sometimes.

Thanks for having me.

To answer both 1 and 2: New on here but I have been a long time lurker, probably around 18ish years, many of my friends were members or looked up information on Bluelight so I always checked it when I needed information. I finally decided to sign up and take part.
3. I have had almost everything I can think of over the past thirty plus years apart from meth, G, crack, and a few obscure things, these things just never interested me, but I started very young, probably far too young, I was really into weed, prescription downers (benzos, older hypnotics like chloral hydrate, methaqualone, barbs, all opioids but was a big fan of Doloxene Co, MS Contin, and Dilaudid and still am if I come across any, and some other random pharmaceuticals), and I love psychedelics, acid was actually the first thing I ever tried when I was 12 and I went down the psychedelic rabbit hole after that with mushrooms, DMT, mescaline, and then later the 2Cs and all of Shulgin's bizarre creations, then tried heroin in my teens and have chipped since but I always have large breaks from it and have been lucky that I don't find withdrawals so horrible that I can't stop, I thankfully can stop with just a few days of feeling rubbish, I tried coke but found it really underwhelming, generally stimulants don't do much for me apart from stop my ADHD making me a total scatterbrain (however I love my coffee). I didn't drink alcohol until my 20s but became a morning to night spirits drinker for a few years, but I almost did a Bon Scott so I decided at that point that was way too close for comfort and stopped and haven't touched a drink in over 15 years, I tried ketamine when I was in my early 30s and have been a fiend ever since, and probably consider it one of my favorites. I detest MDMA, it is like a horrific nightmare every time I have tried it, me and serotonin in those levels don't get along so I stay away from anything MD or MD related. I used to smoke weed every waking moment but I stopped in January 2020, and then started only vaping medical bud in 2021 before bed, but I still love it and think it is the the best.
4. I was swallowing and smoking anything from 12, and decided at 14 that I wanted to try shooting and have used various things IV since, I didn't snort anything until my 20s and wasn't a fan until I discovered my fondness for ketamine, MXE (I miss that stuff), and other dissociatives (although I have only had PCP once many years ago, but it was fun). I have never shot ketamine, I have only mainly snorted it and swallowed it in caps a couple of times, although I had some crazy hospital time and surgery when I was 16 and remember the nurses giving me ketamine infusions and I wasn't complaining. I have never had any harm or overdose issues, I have always educated myself before taking anything and I am always cautious, the only thing that scared me was my alcohol incident and that is the only time I knew I had pushed it way too far. I am a massive advocate of harm reduction and have always practiced it and been the one who shares the harm reduction information with friends and anyone who asks, especially after studying at pharmacology and other biomedical sciences at university, and now I am back studying mental health and drug and alcohol addiction to become someone who can help others with my experience. Anyway, that is everything and probably more than needed. I look forward to chatting with everyone.

I can now update this. I am back New England for now. I still only do one drug. Pretty much daily. I've mentioned migraines and it's really helpful for me. I used to consistently run out of my migraine meds, along with oxycodone I was prescribed for when I ran out of sumatriptan. Now I rarely take it. I feel like I'm kinda getting a daily dose of a vasoconstrictor and it's working great.

1 - I found some time ago like 3 years the website, just started browsing about 2 years. Just registered a few weeks ago.
2 - Websearch on dark web
3 - Weed, ash, cocaine, Heroin, LSD, XTC, MDSMA, Speed i am on Bupe for a long, long time, (15 years)
4 - Smoking, Snorting. Just realized that i am aware of the harm reduction

1. First found Bluelight after using erowid when I was obsessed with hallucinogens in my early 20s. From there I used it to learn about every other facet of drug administration. 15 or so years now I’d say I’ve lurked.

2. Probably looking for more info on a drug than I felt erowid could offer.

3. Prior to BL I had used marijuana, acid, DMT, ketamine, alcohol, nicotine, amphetamine and temazepam.

4. Prior to BL ROA’s were oral, insufflating, drinking, and smoking.

These days I shoot anything water soluble that provides a rush.

Kinda made this interactive as well... [heh]

1. How long was it from first browsing Bluelight to joining up as a member? Weeks, months, years?
I first found this website back in 2017, so about 8 years.
2. Do you remember how you came to find Bluelight? Was it from a web search, from a referral from another website, from word of mouth, from social media, or some other way?
I was curious to different ROAs, Harm Reduction and knowledge gain.
3. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what drugs had you used prior to that - including psychoactive prescription drugs, alcohol, cannabis? Had you already tried powdered drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, ketamine, MDMA powder, etc? or not yet?
I have never really been one for alcohol. But yes, I was on my 2nd long run with meth, with occasional cocaine, acid and mushrooms.
4. Thinking back to when you first began using Bluelight, what routes of administration had you tried prior to that? E.g. snorting, injecting, other ROAs?
Back in the day, -hah-, I've only ever snorted my DOC, I have never and will never get myself to use intravenously. When I was doing some self research, as answered in 2., harm reduction and knowledge gain to what turned into another ROA with the then gf, a BB.

1. It has been YEARS of browsing and learning from other’s experiences.
2. I came to find Bluelight after running out of Tramadol and not getting my rx from dr until a week later. Was looking for ways to combat withdrawals.
3. Drugs I’ve used: Hydrocodone, oxycodone, tramadol, THC from Delta 8 gummy, gabapentin, alcohol
4. Administered by mouth.

Thanks for being here and being caring enough to help and make people feel welcomed and not judged.

My question is,
where can I post or read threads regarding art, design and creativity?

Thank you 💙

My question is,
where can I post or read threads regarding art, design and creativity?

We have a subforum called LAVA for visual arts. If you can't find a thread feel free to start your own.
HERE is a link to the current photo contest.

We also have separate forums for things like music, film, writing, and sports all of which can be found in the Arts & Entertainment section.

I am from VA and suffer intractable non operable severe pain. Pain medication is harder to get all the time and I pray the pendulum swings back a bit. People who say pain medication is for wimps have not had enough pain. I am not weak. I wish to have quality of life. I don’t abuse and take a med that makes me feel the least ‘high’.
CDC should not be telling state board of medicine and doctors what is appropriate. I have four genetic defects that make me metabolize medication poorly. This became apparent when I had my first er trip in my 20’s. Also when I woke up on OR table.
Thankfully, a doctor ordered genetic testing.
Later he lost his license for helping pain patients. The same day he was given an award for work in pain medicine, he was raided by DEA.
I hope for a better tomorrow.
I appreciate this site for the information available for people who want to use medications safely.
