my freind was wondering if any experts can help him out with his extractions
my freind used citric acid on approx 150g of bark for the first part of the extraction
he then cleaned the solution with naptha
he then tried to basify the solution using caustic soda
this is where he is a bit confused... all the techs he has read say that the solution should turn greyish and then pinkish , this did not happen, he noticed where drops of base were added the solution would become a dark red but would then dissappear with stirring, the solution would become darker but that is all. after adding more naptha and stirring, the solution separated into two layers one the dark red solution, the other a perfectly clear layer of naptha.
apon evaporation all that was left was what appeared to be some yellowish oily substance and when this dried out there was nothing left in the evaporating dish.
he has since tried this again but with similar results though the last time it appeared like there might actually be an extremely small amount of something that had a distinct synthetic smell though he suspects there is not enough for an active dose (if what he has is DMT)
he also noticed apon his second attempt than when the naptha was evaporating there was a whiteish/greyish cloudiness to the solution that seemed to occur when the naptha evaporated (more of this white cloudy stuff would appear when the naptha was fanned then it would sink and dissapear)
is he doing something wrong? any advice would be helpfull
