Does anyone have any experiences with Tramadol? I know it has a high seizure rate but has anyone here suffered any seizures using Tramadol? I know it depends on the person but generally how high in MG's brings you close to getting a seizure? I remember i took 150mg before bed one time and i did not feel anything from it and i have a really low tolerance for opiate, Although I felt like my brain was twitching. It was extremely weird and that was the last time i ever took it, Freaked me the hell out. This is just out of curiosity.

I have take Tramadol at one point everyday when I was sick. I know it can give a slight high but not worth it in my opinion. I use to take 250-300-400 a day and I never did get a seiure from it but one thing that it can give..is a headache out of this world.

A Migraine is a little prison bitch compared to this headache. I thought my head was going to explode. After the second one I was off it for good. Its okay to take some every once and a while, but building a tolerance is not cool with this one. Especially for those headaches.

edit: and at my size and weight I was surprised how it did make me feel.

You are allowed up to 400 a day

if you are average or skinny, than I would say 2 and a half so 250. but at the same time I am use to pain meds...so what I suggest is up a half a pill each time, be safe about it. Then see what works, but pl dnt go over 400 your asking for trouble.

I have never had any seizures from Tramadol, twitching is as close as I've come to a seizure of any kind from Tramadol. Usually feels like an electric shock and seems to occur at the worst times like as you're falling asleep. Most commonly it gives you a medicine head feeling at any dose. And when I was pushing it I got acute serotonin syndrome which isn't fun. Bless you if you get anything positive from this drug, most people just think they do.

I was on this painkiller on and off for years until I started taking mirtazepine. As soon as I got to 30mgdaily of the mirtazepine I couldnt take more then 100mg a day of the tramadol without unpleasent disasociative feelings and myoclonic twiches, pre-seizure state I wonder? The main problem with this drug is its quite 'dirty' (hits a lot of brain receptors) this means that alot of other drugs dont mix well with it, especially the ADs. Docs now have me on dhc which kicks the arse out of tramadol anyway. Although the one drug that did mix well with it in my opinion was cannabis. 100mg of tramadol and a nice joint can be a massively euphoric experience. Its a serious nodding mix. :-D

Im taking 30mg mirtazapine and can take up to 300mgs tram at once, never had problems with tram. 150 is quite a small dose unless you happen to be prone to seizures.

Im fairly sensitive to opiates and opioids including tramadol. Ive no history of seizures and they dont run in my damily but after presenting to the doctor she said they possibly seizure warnings and swiched me to the dihydrocodeine which in this part of the uk is considered a powerful opiate.lol with tramadol it seems that some people get a potent effect from it while others get nothing.

After reading some of the stories how people get seizures and lose memory and that stuff i don't think ill take it again. I have a real low opiate tolerance and 150mg didn't do anything. I don't think its worth to risk. If 150mg made me twitch i would be afraid to even do 200mg. Thanks for all the input.

Its not a good drug to be high dosing with. if you dont get anything but side effects from 150mg then you likely dont convert it well, in which case higher doses are pointless. Dont worry theres a vast list of opiates and opioids out there to try (unless you live in my part of the uk or norway that is.lmao).

Some people say it works great for them and others say they do not feel much at all. I experimented with doses up to 400mg and I didn't feel much besides the SNRI effect which was quite unpleasant for myself. Destroyed libido, no appetite, and insane muscle spasms/twitches.

^
I also had the appetite problem with these and muscle twitches but I had no libido issues except it was harder to orgasm, but when it was mindblowing.lol

Its a hit or miss drug. I was addicted to opiates and ran short one month. I read Tramadol was a low class opiate. Now my opiate tollerence was near 80mg a day (oxy, and Vicodin) but 200-300mg of Tram worked great for me. It made my withdrawal completely go away and gave me a high. Not an opiate feeling high but a good euphoric body high. That's just me though. Some people can take 1000mg and get no high.

I took around 600mg per day for a medical assisted detox. no history of seizures. lessened the dope sickness, gave me energy, enhanced mood, helped maintain appetite. withdrawal from trams fucking blows though. horrible depression followed along with anxiety through the roof but no energy to fulfill the nervous twitching.

600mg! I've read people getting seizures over 400mg. I guess it really depends on the person. Did you ever feel twitches Serotonin?

occasionally I did. I was given 200mg every 8 hours for 2 days. then they dropped my dose to 150 every 8 hours for 2 days, then 100, then 50, then kick time. I was given valium occasionally too for anxiety and possibly for antiseizure reasons as well. I was very wired for the first week though.

tramadol does seem very individual in its effects on various people. Regarding high doses (above 400mg per day) I wouldnt like to play seizure roulette with it but others factors could be helping people. Such as medications like the GABAergics which seem morw and more prevalent nowdays and of course everyones favs....benzos.:-)

I have tried tramadol a few years back took like over 900mg in a day never had a seizure.....but i have a high tolerance to everything i have tried. I thought the buzz was ok for a once off wouldnt do it again

I know first hand that tramadol can cause seizures in one person while that same dose is safe for a different person of similar height and weight. 900mg in a day would definitely be crossing the line for me.

I've had a seizure once, and felt alarming muscle spasms and involuntary twitches on more than one occasion. I believe the time I seized I dosed 1200-1300mg... But most times I've taken more than 600mg without an anticonvulsant I've encountered noticeable and slightly scary spasticity.

Needless to say, 1200mg is a stupid dose. Don't do it. If you were scared by 'brain twitching' after 150mg, then I suspect that raising the dosage will only increase unpleasant side effects.

my girlfriend and i had an ultram script a few years ago that we abused the shit out of for recreational purposes, just to see if we could switch it up a little bit from ECP dope... my girlfriend decided pretty quickly that tramadol sucked and told me i could have my way with the rest of the bottle... tried sniffing a few initially but that was disappointing, there's so much powder there, just as bad as trying to sniff a vicodin, so i eventually just started eating six, eight, ten of these things at a time... there must have been one night where i ate like 20 ultram in a 12 hour period... they will hold off WD from a "real" opiate but in kind of a bland, uninteresting way sort of reminiscent of how suboxone made me feel. i never had a seizure from it (but i was smoking bud concurrently and maybe taking some xanax too, i don't really remember) but i did find that it was kind of uncomfortable to come off the tramadol, worse for me than how i'd feel after coming off a week long ECP dope binge, which surprised me given the weakness of the tramadol buzz. as well, we both also found the analgesic effect to be "wanting" to say the least. overall, i'd say that tramadol sucks, if my doctor tried to give me that crap i'd just ask for codeine instead.
