Question about Tramadol.

The best way to take tramadol is to stager the dose. start with 2 pills, wait 45 min to an hour and take the rest of your dose. The liver turns tramadol into O-desmethyltramadol and this occurs at a higher rate when tramadol is already in your system.

O-desmethyltramadol is what most of the opiate high comes from.

I just wanted to more or less echo what other posters have been saying. Avoid higher doses of tramadol. One of my close friends was taking higher than recommended doses for a long while with no ill effects. Then one day out of the blue, seizure. Point being, you aren't immune just because it hasn't happened yet.

Tramadol has to be one of the more dangerous drugs to chase a high with, since as the euphoria induced slightly declines as tolerance sets in, the seizure risk sharply increases.

My friend had a seizure from either 200mg or 250mg, I watched it happen. He didn't really remember anything that happen. I've taken max 200mg at once and never felt any negative effects but I haven't taken it at all since then. He had taken an SSRI the night prior, and I know tramadol + SSRI does not mix well.
