go to ur primary and mention that the specialist gave you a supply of xanax for your anxiety and he insisted you talk to your primary, and just mention that, and just ask if it's possible if he can work with you with your anxiety issues and the medicine the specialist gave you a trial run on. im pretty sure ur primary wont have a problem, its the younger crowd where primary doctors are dick heads and always say "see a shrink"". im 26 and i found a GREAT primary doc, my 1st appt, i told him i used to be on xanax, so he gave me 3x a day .5mg, and i told him i used to be on adderall, he asked the dose, and gave me it, and he even gave me a 90 day supply of both. 270 xanax, and 90 adderall xr 30mg. i began to get greedy, i went to his office 2 month early on my xanax and said it got stolen, so he suggested i just go on Klonopin 2mg AM, 2mg PM, and kept the adderall the same however he questioned if i got anxiety why be on a stimulant, but still let me ride. i told him i had knee pain, he actually gave me a buprenorphine patch for pain! and im 26, this doctor KNEW i was an opiate addict, failed 2 tests there, told him i went on suboxone, still gave me kpins and adderall, eventually, he lost my trust, stopped the adderall, knocked me to klonopin 3mg a day, then to 2mg a day, then when he kicked me out he only have me 25 0.5mg to taper. he WAS A GREAT doctor, didnt judge me by age, or addiction, gave me the benefit of the doubt.. but i can only blame myself. stay positive man cause many doctors out there prefer giving benzos for anxiety rather SSRI's. i've had a doctor for every problem i had he told me "go to that specialist for that" go to that doctor for that problem, i was like WTF? its funny, the two doctors i had were getting there own practice, and they were leaving this one practice, and when i seen this doctor, i REALLY think he was selling himself to transfer to his practice, cuz he increased my xanax without telling me, offered lortab for a toothache, gave me adderall twice a day, its like whateve ri asked for he threw at me. but when they finally got to there new practice they got stricter..its funny how doctors reel patients in to make money. sorry im rambling and going off topic. dont lose hope, benzos are the MOST commonly RXed drug in the USA
