Psychotic Episode on LSD

What is this horseshit you keep pulling out of your ass Anon? When did you last make a "casual visit" to the mental ward and what did you see to give you this deluded opinion?

The chances of ending up in the mental ward after taking LSD are pretty much nill.

Source: I worked as a care assistant throughout most of my 20's. Now qualify your horseshit? I'm looking for some sort of proof to back up your opinion. Look up the word 'evidence' if you need a hand.

You'd make a great point IF we could make a difference

You make a difference by educating people so they educate people and people start testing their drugs.

It sounds like a DOx to me and that is an important distinction. If her, her friends, or her boyfriend ever intend to trip again hopefully they can learn something from this experience... and buy a test kit.

I'd love to hear some specific examples of people who were permanently mentally damaged from LSD use. I've seen people eat boards like ravenous beasts and go well off the deep but NEVER anyone who didn't come back.

I will admit I knew a guy who lost his shit consistently after taking a silly amount of acid over the course of a week. However I will also mention he has always had schizophrenia and shouldn't have been doing any acid in the first place. He is also fine now, although it took a while.

nice boyfriend you got there, sounds really responsible dragging you around while your foaming at the mouth and screaming and not taking you to the hospital. if he took you to get medical attention they would have given you a benzo and other drugs that would have pulled you out of the hell you were in and saved you from doing potentially permenent brain damage. he sounds like a real keeper. if you had died he would have been charged with manslaughter at the least because he took the drugs with you and probably played a role in getting them for you. If my girlfriend, or anyone for that matter, was freaking out in the way you described and it looked like a scene from evil dead, which it sounds like it did, I would have called 911 twice by the time the foam hit the floor.

it sounds like you didn't take acid, it sounds more like a research chemical with toxic overdose effects, like some sort of dragonfly compound. many people have died from taking doses that would have been fine if it were acid (say 5 tabs) and their brain ends up getting roasted.

stay away from psychadelics for a long time. once you have a real bad trip subsequent trips tend to pick up where the last one went off. you need to let your soul recover from what you went through, and at the least you should have a serious talk with your boyfriend. you could have easily died on the floor that night being tormented by a demonic clown while your boyfriend sits around letting you die because he's too much of a coward to call for help and possibly have to deal with a couple minor consequences or some awkward conversations. seriously.. what a shit head

and to the guy talking about how lsd doesnt cause permenent damage, first of all it absolutely can. just like any traumatic experience can cause severe ptsd, drug induced trauma or physical trauma experienced while under the influence can have a profound negative effect on people. I've experienced it myself. it may not show up on a brain scan, but it's there.

and thats assuming what you got was actually lsd. unless you know the lab where it came from or have gotten it tested you have no idea what it is. so while lsd may have mild physical effects on the brain, you're kidding yourself if you think that makes it safe. people have committed suicide on lsd, even more have attempted it. go tell them or their families how lsd doesn't have lasting effects.

et's just say "Test Your Blotters" and leave it at that..

Aye, aye, you're right. I've encouraged this talk and it's gotten out of hand so I'm closing this thread. OP, if you would like to talk about stuff some more PM me and this can be reopened, or a new thread made, or whatever we deem appropriate.

As for why I was alright with bending the rules a lil', let me say, these super potent PEAs scare the shit out of me. For the most part we don't have to worry about the stuff we have here in PD killing anybody, which is a good part of why we have a nice laid back forum here, where we can be really enthusiastic about the compounds we cover, and endlessly discuss the nuances of where dissociative use becomes abuse. Contrast this to OD's super-strict HR approach, necessitated by the dangers of the material they cover.

So to elking, and anybody else who might see this as an intimidating, bad-vibesy thread, where we all go overboard in our zealousness, appreciate the issue here. If stuff with a narrow therapeutic window is masquerading as a classical psych with a sterling safety reputation, and some unknowing person goes for a right strong experience...we fear for the worse. We can't go off like this all the time though, and ought to limit ourselves to stressing the importance of testing any supposed acid people come across (esp. from a new source, just like y'all would advise with E pills), and that folks should dose conservatively until they're confident in their batch.
