Psychedelic Movie Watching

Altered States 1980's movie that is DIEING to be remade useing the modern world of tech, and knowledge of current RC's

gets a bit strange for sure but an awsome movie.

Sphere has some interesting moments, as does the matrix

in general I can't concentrate on a full movie for much longer then 5 to 10 minutes while influenced, I think the longest thing that ever held my attention was watching old cartoons.

Pop Eye is the bomb, really anything in black and white or early technicolor so is Woody wood pecker

Anything animated by Anthony F Schepperd will blow your mind while your high. Not only because it's 'trippy', but there's always some serious message within.
Check out the music video for 'The Music Scene' by Blockhead that he animated.

I'm actually quite fascinated with drug culture based films, but when i seen Altered States. That film just scared me like witnessing sasquatch 1st hand.

I do strongly agree that it needs to be re-made through, or that a movie might take influence from Altered States.

Oh yeah, Altered States was quite awesome until he started becoming a monkey due to Amanitas Muscaria, and everything beyond that. Would love for a modern, more serious movie on the altering of consciousness and someone losing himself in it. Sensory depravation tanks are quite spooky

YES (lol) yes!! some of the CGI was frankly quite absurd. And yeah a few mates have mentioned Sensory Dep (i would personally try it out 4 the lul, but never pay 4 one)

Tv and commercials can really mess with me when I'm tripping, but movies can be amazing. The main ones I can remember: Lsd- Willy wonka (the original), alice in wonderland was classic as well.
Mushrooms= a scanner darkly. great movie, mushrooms really enhanced it and made it feel very dirty and real.
Mushrooms + lsd= V for vendetta. Not a super trippy movie, just a great one if you're interested in revolutions and stuff like that.
Mxe= Pretty much makes any movie or show more interesting, and makes you analyze it in ways you didn't think possible. My main examples are the two epic trilogies, Star wars and lord of the rings. I seriously put myself in the shoes of the characters in these movies while high on mxe. It's a fairly cliche list, but ,hey, I'm a simple guy I guess.

what CGI? that didn't exist back in the early 80's SFX crude at best given what they were trying to accomplish

-another movie that I feel is oddly trippy but was never meant to be
- X Men 2

I LOVE watching movies on methoxetamine. I recommend Moon (2009). 2001: A Space Odyssey is good for any trip. 1979 Alien is good if you want something intense. A Scanner Darkly has that wonderful animation style that is great for a tripping brain. OH, and the QUINTESSENTIAL TRIPPY MOVIE? Enter. The. Void.

Well that, THX 1138, Brazil and Dune, maybe.

Speaking of Dune, anyone watched any Lynch while on psychs? It could be either too weird, or totally fucking awesome

Inland Empire was pretty awesome. Unlike with Mulholland Drive or Blue Velvet I could actually sit back an enjoy the ride instead of getting stuck trying to figure everything out. And the music was mindblowing

Moon is a very trippy movie. We downloaded the soundtrack too, very etheric!

Probably one of my favorite movies I watched while on mushies would hands down be "The Brave Little Toaster" had about 5 of my good friends at my house during my sophomore yr in college and watched it, heartwarming and pretty intense at moments, overall wonderful experience.

Also I know this is a little off topic but has anyone else had as much fun as my playing Mario party for N64 while dosed on L?

There are so many to mention, but some personal favorites are:

* 2001: A Space Odyssey

* After Hours

* Blue Velvet

* Buffalo '66

* Close Encounters of the Third Kind (original version)

* Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

* Eraserhead

* Naked Lunch

* Nineteen Eighty-Four (Michael Radford's version, especially with the original soundtrack)

* Overlord (1975)

* Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom

* Scanners

* Solaris (original version)

* The Devil and Daniel Johnston

* The Exorcist (original version; the revised version from the late 90's is great, except for the coda, which really damages the atmosphere of the film)

* THX 1138 (I prefer the original, but the CGI enhanced version is great too!)

* Vacation

* Videodrome

I like good science and history documentaries as well!

shit i couldn't get through eraser head or naked lunch while tripping. Naked lunch i was just like what the fuck is happening. Frank Zappa's 200 motels is also incredibly psychedelic and plain strange. I don't recommend these films tho.

1. baraka - if you haven't seen this while massively tripping then you must.
2. Pink Floyd - The Wall - just go watch it but make sure you are tripping very hard
3. Monsters Inc. - beautiful colours, great story, very fun (runners up Coraline and almost every Pixar film).

those are my top 3. Where the wild things are made me cry while on 2c-e, the idea of the sun going out triggered the idea that the universe will one day die and nothing will exist. Not something i was ready for when i was trying to watch a hopefully cheery movie, that movie was all sorts of fucked up. Max getting kneed in the nose in the snow bank really pissed me off. I wish he would have just gotten up and beat the kid who did it to him to death, that would have made a decent film.

The pick of destiny by tenacious d is pretty fun to watch while tripping too. and i'll throw in Drive, Looper, Fat kids rule the world and killer joe to the list of must watch psychedelic films. These films were experiences for me while tripping, highly recommended (especially fat kids rule the world).

Can't stand watching movies on psychs. I get antsy to go do something after about 15 minutes hahaha.

Watched family guy on acid with a buddy and we tried to see how long we could keep our acid trip a secret from the 7 other people watching it with us. Needless to say that didn't stay a secret for too long as we were both rolling on the floor in tears of laughter after about 30 seconds just at the site of cartoon, not understanding a single joke or reference, it was just the fact that we were watching something on TV, and that was so hilarious.

I can't even describe the amount of nostalgia I got from reading this post.
