Esoteric Psychedelic Ideas and Revelations Inaction

^ The answer is to kill all the firstborn, Uniter. Do that for a coupla generations and the population problem is sorted ;)

In practice you'll have to hide your drug use just about anywhere that's not your own living room

Hmm... when I spent a weekend in Haarlem I saw many a crackhead openly hitting the pipe on the street. Saw junkies shooting up at Amsterdam train station too. Was a good 7-8 years ago or thereabouts though...

Recent political development doesn't tolerate drug use at dance parties even though it's abundantly clear that prohibition doesn't work.

As noted by many at the 10 year BL anniversary meet in the Dam, I believe :\

China tried to implement this rule but you can't enforce it and it is a violation of human freedoms.

I guess the question is whether overpopulation violates human freedom more- which it does appear to.
The planet can't handle us all but it's an innate drive to reproduce. We'll probably end up choking ourselves out if we don't get the technology to colonize other planets first

And then we'll choke those planets :\ Personally, I think the concept of colonizing other worlds is a 'way-out'- we CAN fix this one; we fucked it in about 200 years- surely we can undo the damage if everyone would just think. What about though?

Personally, I think that a 'tribal' oriented system is probably the best example of a way to live- not every aspect of such lives, but the way in which resources are worshipped, and the way populations never become too unwieldy. The indigenous australians had it right; longest civilisation to run consecutively. The questions are- what did they do that retained their freedoms? Sadly, as these people and tradtions die out, we may never know until its too late.

Love isn't really enough- compassion isn't either- brute force defintely isn't. It seems that no aspect of human nature will be enough to change the world; however, aspects of Nature may do so without our wish. It appears to be happenning; most natural 'disasters' are more sever then previously, and, as we know, global warming is at hand here. Equilibrium will be restored, and Earth will remain; its whether any life-forms currently on it will; that is the question.

Ultimately, the best we can do is to cultivate a deep passion for the entire biopsphere/Gaia- and, if we must, sacrfirce ourselves for the greater good. Our lives simply aren't important enough to presever, though the Earth as a whole is.

In the meantime, we need to keep expanding our human capacity for conciousness, make peace with ourselves, and wave good bye. The paradigm shift we need may simply be a recognition that humans are not meant to be. That said, I don't want to die :\

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole ov the Law; according to Aleister Crowley and his egyptian buddy, Aiwass. And, inturn- Love is the Law, Love under Will. In pother words; do what thou will in the name of love....

Amen :)

Oh I know, it was more of a sarcastic type sentence. It's pure locust behaviour.

I agree with everything in your post. Previous cultures were very sustainable; we need to figure out how to get back there.

I like your idea of humans dying off, the earth remaining and the start of a different age.... But just as you, I don't want to die. ;)

I think it's okay if we die though. I honestly beleive that everyone is eternal and that we are all one and that even if most of all of humanity dies, a few of us will come back and get it right one day, and everyone will be reincarnated in a perfect world. I know it's totally lofty, but it makes sense to me. I had a really amazing experience at Shambhala. I didn't necesarrily have a DMT breakthrough, but i might as well have with the drug cocktail I ingested. I spent like 7 days taking ridiculously high doses of very powerful psychedelics. I really don't mean to sound like a ranting and raving lunatic, but I really did see the light. It's all about the Love !!!!

I feel as though I have had a truly unique amazingly powerful once in a trillion lifetimes experience. I feel like I am part of a fantasy dream land now, everything seems so perfect. The synchronicity around me is just otherworldy. I wish you all peace and love, I just want everyone to want happiness for everyone else.

It will happen, we are evolving at a tremendous speed. We are young as a species, and have so much to learn.

I think if you want to have 9 babies, go for it ! Everything happens for a reason. Natural selection will determine who lives and dies, it's just up to us to keep acting like humans. If you need to have a huge family to be truly happy, then do it, because that what life should be all about, being truly happy.

Stuff will balance out. If we are over populated, then people will start dying off in parts of the world where it is bleakest....We are so fortunate to live in this part of the world, where water and food are so plentiful. We ARE able to have big families. WE, the people who have seen the love are the ones who are going to fill this planet with beautiful loving people in the future. So make love, have babies ! Have as many as you want !

haha Mr.Wizard, I feel every word of everything you said one hundred percent, except the having as many babies as you want thing. In my opinion, that is hurting the whole by knowingly depleting resources for other people. I think that when possible, you should avoid chasing pleasure that harms others.

yeah, i guess i agree with you there. Lets be reasonable, we don't need 9 babies anymore, 2 or 3 is plenty plenty plenty. I'd like a boy and a girl.

Yeah, my wife and I want 2 kids (one day).

I think what's fucking us up is mainly a result of overpopulation and the tendency to form huge city areas with millions of people. It seems to me that humanity functions most morally when there is a smaller community. If you live in a community of 100 people, then everyone knows one another. Everyone relies on one another to survive, so everyone cooperates and acts altruistically, because it's necessary for survival. But when you have many thousands or millions of people all in close proximity, it's like the sense of responsibility towards anyone else around you begins to deteriorate, or has a tendency to do so in many people. It's like there's a sense of "how could anything I do really affect anyone else? I don't know these people". This creates unhealthy outlooks where people only care about themselves, and don't trust anyone, and assume that everyone's going to be the same way. This leads to negativity and crime, and generally amoral behavior. And this attitude becoming too pervasive within a community becomes like a disease, spreading negativity and behavior that seems to help the individual but hurts the whole (thereby, ironically, also hurting the individual).

Education and affluence seems to solve the overpopulation problem. The population is decreasing in almost all wealthy countries.

Sadly, it does not solve the overconsumption problem.

As for morality, I agree that the level of urbanization has a large influence, but the cultural background makes a greater difference. There can be tight-knit families, neighbourhood communities and cliques in cities too, as well as a communal spirit of belonging to one's city and identifying with its soul and its inhabitants. This is reasonably common in European cities.

I think the strength of communities is negatively affected a lot in the US by the extreme mobility of people in their lifetimes, commonly living in a whole other state than their families and moving several times in their life. People tend to be more static on other parts.

The problem is the lack of consciousness world wide, the developing countries are making the same mistakes we did and our countries still have the same mentality that caused all of humanity's problems of today. Worse still is the fact that the developed countries are going back wards in terms of compassion, care and consciousness of our actions and the product of our actions.

I think about it all day, all the time, everywhere I go, every thing I see just makes me lose more hope in humanity

Word up andreas, but I've been meeting a lot of amazing people that share our vision. The younger generation has a positive vibe running through it. :D
