I think the opposite, in that the goofier versions (fun as they are) totally detract from the melancholic and spiritual longing that the lyrics describe.

I should be sleeping but huffing on iced bongs of tiptop quality hash and listening to great covers instead, and this is a truly great cover. Her voice on this, damn.

Loved the sung and not his death 2017 RIP Chester Bennington coincided with private matters similar enough to fit his song.
And the pregnant angelic voiced woman and her man playing it, emotional all te way, no rock just pieces of rap left.

Almost a evangelic duo imo. But thanks 🙏 for covering it. Helped me.
