Dex that song is off the hook. solid beat and it has the trippy aspect most of your songs have.

I think your songs are perfect to listen to when fuxx0red up - to risk sounding incredibly lame.

About the song "Dump the Sampler"...notice how that little sample of the White Stripes song, in some strange way hits right on with the drum beat?

EDIT - and if you like Even Steven Flow, then listen to spacetime gatorraide. similar. Definately not rock.

Just listened to "dump the sampler"...it starts out in a way that reminds me of that 80s song, "Axl F" or whatever the exact title was. This song also plays well as a loop. I have to listen to it again at home though on some real speakers. I got dragged in to work overnight tonight and am listening to it via my laptop currently. Thank god for the wireless network that I can pickup here. Otherwise I would go kookoo...

Some really nice stuff here, guys. I'm not much of a traditional musician so I can't offer any real critiques, but I especially like a lot of Dexter and Finder's stuff.

Here are some beats I produced over the past weeks. Thought I'd throw in some Hip Hop/Jazzy flava for the thread.

Keep rockin'!

Yeah, laptop computer speakers are pathetic. Dump the sampler is a pretty old song and pretty chinsy/cheesy, but i like the loops in it....i have heaps of updated music to post, but i'm just gonna go for 1 a week.

Thanks for the comment...I look forward to checking out your music, but i'm pressed for time...i'll edit this or repost or whatever with my comments/critique.....gotta go.

I found an old tape with some riffs and a couple of songs back from when I was just learning to play the guitar...I liked this one so I put it into mp3...

Life of the Party (the death of)

I guess this is around 1997-1998.

(recorded on my old tascam 4 track with a karaoke machine mic)

Sn2...just listened to "dopestick"...damn that track is hot! WHat did you use to make it? I do alot of stuff with Reason and Ableton live myself...I totally dug yer track. I have no critiques! I think it is awesome and done! Good work!

Hell fucking yeah. Dopesick is the fattest beat....holy mother.

Boarderline acidjazz...on the likes of the Brand New Heavies, and a bunch of other groups i dont know the names of......seriously that's something right out of "Now that's acid jazz"....Fatty triphop. I love this kind of music.

Thanks guys, and here I thought Dopesick was the least interesting track! I feel happiest with the Bill Withers track and the 3 minute pop song redux.

I use pirated AcidPro 5 software, hehe. I know there are probably better programs, but this one suits me just fine. I've gotten pretty comfortable with it after about a month of dicking around.

I usually browse through my roommate's mp3 collection and sample random shit (Modern Jazz Quartet, Big Band, soul music, what have you). I put a beat to them and fuck with either an original or sampled bass track. I still want to figure out how to do a live bass feed, though.

I have a whole folder of beats, so I'll update the page when I get home and have the time.

CATFISH- I really enjoyed the latest track you posted. I would like to hear more of that melody. It has potential to be quite catchy. ;)

^ I KNEW I heard those samples somewhere. I CD's from all those ones you mentioned. I used pirate Acid5 too. hehe. Im still trying to get my hands on reason5.0 and cubase SX 3

EDIT - I'll listen to your other stuff soon, im stuck listening to a lot of punk at the moment.

It's Reason 3.0

;)

(maybe that will help yer search)

Well I just listened to the top most track so far...so if it only gets better then I better go grab some duct tape so I can hang onto my hat!!!

Thanks for listening to that track. It is so old by now, but I thought I had lost the tape that I found it on for quite some time now. Several times I have gone on a half drunk tear of the house trying to find it. Then recently, I did! It was cool cause some of the ideas I had totally forgotten about (an actually still liked some of them too). Others were entirely embarressing and will never see the insides of anyone else's ear holez until after I am dead. But, this one is one that I am going to record again, about 8 years later. Kinda neat...

Thanks again for listening to it.

I meant 3.0 ...typo. I have it downloaded...i just dont know what to do with ".bin" and ".cue" files that it comes in....the whole thing is 1.87gigs total...and that's compressed...so i assume it's the whole thing.

Download a program called ISOpen. it will put the .bin images back together and then you can burn them. It took me a few days to figure that out myself the first time I saw .bin files. But you basically should have bin files and cue files. You'llneed both to open them.

I just thought yer typo was funny cause I frequent a reason users community board, and they had a countdown clock to when Reason 3.0 was to be released. The day it was released, people started talking about Reason 4.0! Heh. I thought you were one of them...

PM me if you have any trubbz...

^^^That link won't work for me...but it might be cause I am at work.

(Anyone listen to my "Electric Hippiez" track yet?)

I've been slacking on listening to all the new material that has been posted. I promise I'll catch up soon. :)

Catfish, I'd love to know what you thought of some of the other tracks I have on my site. And I hear you about the band being low in the mix...this was the first time I've dumped from 4-track to the computer and that was one of the first songs I dumped, so I got better at by the end. All of them are rehearsal takes.

Finder-I will listen and review when I get hom. I am leaving work right now, so look for a review in a short while. Just lemme get good and liquored up to wash away the day's daze...

Also, what kinda computer you got? You might want to PM about a couple of programs.
