windows media player says your shit wont work. Let me see if it works on mine. Beats the fuck out of me. My comp is overall shit. I cant even get my songs to work. Imma gonna DL a different player now.

(you might have to save it rather than play it...I have had similar issues with the host site that I store 'em on)

Heh. Cool stuff with that Meh Reh Geh song, Catfish...the electronic sounding stuff really isn't my thing, but I've been playing Half Life 2 lately and this song could have fit on the soundtrack. :D

LMFAO @ Leg's Bluelight Chat song. :D:D

Whoa, Sn2, that dopesick song is friggin' cool. Kind of a slow funky shuffle.

Axl, I totally dig that King's Habit Blues song--especially the good old break down with the bass and drums.

Spinkle, I liked your song you posted a while back, good changes and flow. You could really use a band to help it out even more!

Finder, I listend to "City Life". I am struck with the Rolling Stones/Velvet Underground feel to it. I liked it more with each listen. The band is a bit low in the mix, but not too bad. The vocals in the verse remind me a bit of the band The Sea and Cake. I liked them. The chorus is alotta fun. I could hear some sort of horns in this song too. Not sure where exactly, but I hear them.

I am gonna go listen to some of your other tracks now!

Thanks for the feedback, but you might be interested to know that there aren't any horns in that song! :)

thanks a lot man. I was really young when I was in that band and just started playing the drums, so they are a bit more basic than my even basic rock n roll style!

the bassist (my cousin) and guitarist (my twin brother) are such awesome musicians. they are currently studying at Berklee in Boston. I'm thinkin' bout joinin' them.

Do it! Do it! Do it! If you don't have anything to lose and can afford it, GO! Even if you only go for a couple of years.

I've wanted to go to Berklee for YEARS, but couldn't really afford it. I still hope to go to some sort of music school one day, but for now I'm searching for a good teacher in Chicago to study privately with.

No, I meant that in my imagination I was hearing horns playing along. I guess I meant it as a possible suggestion of sorts, but mostly I was telling you what I was imagining along with the song naturally as it played.

^Haha, I see now. Funny you should say that because the guy that writes the majority of our tunes has horn lines in mind for a lot of songs, hence why you could probably hear them. :)

I loved the drum intro. the whole song has a very jazzy feel to it - and I love how the drums work on the off beat.

you seem to have the style of jazz drums down perfectly, Finder.

Thanks, Axl. I've worked very hard at melding rock and jazz into a style that is my own. Most of our material is done by writing structured rock songs and then putting a jazz spin on them.

Here's one of our oldest songs recently recorded at rehearsal, . Funk rock circa 2002.

And, if you are feeling adventurous, this is probably the most abstract freeform drumming I have used on one of our tunes, .

As always, new songs appear with semi-regularity.

My band just put some new recordings up on our site...

check out Nature/Nurture

The other recordings from us are at www.rahu-ketu.com

BTW- If anyone is in the NY area tomorrow night, my band will be playing a show in Brooklyn with a bunch of punk/hardcore bands. I think we might get bottles hurled at us for being the one-of-these-things-is-not-like-the-other band in the line up, but it'd be cool to have the bottles thrown by people I sorta know ;)

If yer interested then check out the shows link on the website. Cool.

Sweet Release, Monkey off your Back, Self Control.

Top 3 on my list(not top 3 as in top 3 best. Just on the top of the list of songs)

I have a lot of shit to put on. Keep in mind this is all as low-fi as it gets. The powersupply on my laptop recently got busted, and there is a constant buzzing sound under everything i record! oh well. just ideas anywas. tell me what you think and i might upload more.
...some of it strait up sloppy work. reflects my personality? Personally I'm stuck on "Down the Road" & "The Nod" but the main lines from DTR are from a Sublime song which they I think sampled from someone else. lol

Is it really necessary to quote yourself? Chill out, the thread is stickied.

It's cool, dude. I'll check out your stuff when I get home from work.

It's 1:46 am on a Monday morning...and I'm up as usual playing around on Reason.

(and I just ran out of rum...)

Just figured out how to program my own combinator patches, so now I can program my own single synths (which I already could do) and then layer them and create my own super, multi-dimensional synths! Not that anyone cares, but my roommates are tired of hearing how cool the combinator is already, so that leaves you guys ;)

I couldd twiddle those knobs all night long...and probably will.

Cat - i know you sent me the CD's. Upon the time of recieving them i was on 150mg+ valium a day and 10mg+ klonopin a day, and if i ran into any opiates or alcohol that would go in me as well. So i clean out every place of my house, and am fucking shell shocked. I sorta remember getting the little package in the mailbox from you. Beats me. Honestly. Im just gonna have to fuck around with my getto ass setup and stick to the basics. That combinator sounds SO fucking awesome. It reminds me of this old piece of synth from Yamaha called a "Something Vector Sound Manipulator". You could combine 4 sounds at once and move this 3D like scroller around to combine the 4 sounds in so many different ways and variants of attack..could just have one sound going, 2,3,all 4...change a sound or 2 or all 4 at once, even create your own. It was sorta like the reason3 combinator back in the early 90's when we still fooled around on physical knobs and sliders.

Leg – BL AIM chat tribute was fucking hilarious, but also very creative lyrics, and the instrumentals were actually very good, though I couldn’t stop laughing. I’ve never even been there, but you make it sound SO cool! I like the idea of the tired song, but the lead guitar is too loud over everything else that it gets annoying. I seriously like the idea of the song though, all the other instruments, lyrics, melody. Good work. “Help Me Blues”, that’s pretty hard to pull off on an acoustic if you ask me. If you played that on electric with a LITTLE distortion and wah wah, it would sound really Hendrixy in a way. If that makes any fucking sense. I dig all the work. We all have a long way to go, and there’s no end in sight….only getting better and higher, so high ‘till we’re gone. Oh, and nice vocals along with that. Did you sing at the same time as playing? Good job mate.

Catfish – “Rampage” Just makes me realize how scary it is for the endless possibilities there are in Reason3, especially with the combinater . I was going to say you should put a sample or 2 in there, but BINGO, it ended with a nice one. Good job. If you’ve listened to my stuff, I play a lot of “rockish” type shit, but obviously there’s an electro-freak inherent somewhere within me….Reason will show me the way. LMAO. “Hotel NJ” is FUCKING SICK! I TOTALLY DIG THAT SHIT MORE THAN ANY OF THE ELECTRO STUFF, and I REALLY dig the electro stuff. I can’t wait to listen to that song when I inject 200mg pure ketamine into my arm! LMAO. Good SHIT MATE! “Mick Gagger, clean my teeth, get in there, and clean that beef. LMAO” This is one of my favorite songs of all time. “You wanna a stairway to heaven? How about I give you a trap door to hell?! That’s right. Hotel NJ. A color TV”. Ha. I’ll review the other 2 songs later. I gave you enough credit already on this kick as DXM song. LMAO.

Finder – “Stay with me” I don’t listen to this type of music particularily, but you guys fucking rock, and your drumming is off the hook. It’s like jam band mixed with jazz, mixed with scat, mixed with rock/blues. It’s fucking sick. And the recording quality is obviously VERY HIGH QUALITY. This is the type of music I would pay to see with my girlfriend. And then the music totally picks up for a little and makes me want to eat some shrooms and some DMT. “Uh sorry girlfriend.” You guys got a really good guitarist. Shit what am I saying? Your whole band is very high quality. I hope I get up there one day, but with the insanity of Catfish..

LMAO. Sorry guys. Nothing can beat Hotel NJ.

DexterMeth…at way too early in the morning, but too cold to go record outback.
:pi think im gonna try to get outback and make some trippy but mellow background music then quote various passages from some random Huxley books. Thanks for the inspiration Catfish fuckface.

thanks dude :) yea "help me blues" was sung + played at the same time...just completely improvised late at night...i can't play electric in the dorms late at night :( yeh...(and i DO realize it's mostly senseless blues guitar noodling, heh, i don't think being electrified would make that much better ;) )

i gotta listen to "Hotel NJ" sometime!...hmmz...
