There are two things that bother me about this post. First, BDSM is just a sexual interest some people have and other people don't. It can be very intimate but it's not inherently more expressive or meaningful than anyone else's way of having sex. Second, it seems to be pretty common (and unfair) that men who simply don't like BDSM are typecast as "submissive". Most of them are just vanilla. The thing is it's easier to play along with being submissive than with being dominant, and modern social norms strongly encourage men to try to seem sexually adventurous.

As a submissive guy, this means I hear a lot of horror stories from men who tried being submissive and hated it. This is not helpful.
