Popularity of Dipropyltryptamine (DPT)

Even though DPT is arguably the most profound unscheduled research chemical out there, I don't hear much about it in the recent RC market... at all.

Where is all the DPT?

its easy. profound and possibly scary and serious substances arent really what the public is going for at the moment. thus, most vendors go for stims and entactogens, maybe easy going tryptamines. there are still sources out there for it, if you look enough, but thats not what bluelight is here for.

take care!

Yah that stuff makes me feel like there are ghosts in my house when I do it alone. That being said it is awesome.

Can you elaborate on this slightly?

I have had a half gram of DPT hcl for about 8 months but have yet to touch it, and probably won't for some time still. It is a very powerful compound, and there are a good amount of reports of people having uncomfortable experiences on as little as 50mg insufflated, which has contributed to my reluctance to indulge, as I want to have at least some experience with breakthrough tryptamine experiences. I will more than likely be holding off on it until I can achieve a breakthrough experience with n,n-DMT, which seems to be easier on the body and has a clean track record. Nonetheless, I consider myself quite fortunate to have obtained this compound, and greatly look forward to the experience when I feel ready, if one can really be ready.

^Yes certainly. I can't remember the dosage but when I lived with my parents I was home alone and doing DPT in my room and I kept hearing a weird, very rhythmic noise coming from downstairs in my house. It sounded like tapping and I was too terrified to go check it out. I also am not usually afraid of the dark nor do I ever get the feeling that "someone is looking at me or in the room with me" but when I went downstairs I kept getting those strange feelings. Very creepy. When I did it with friends I never had these feelings. I only had a half gram but I wish, WISH I bought more. It is very profound.

Thanks for the reply! That sounds very spooky. I'll be sure to have my wits about me if auditory hallucinations become pronounced to the point of seeming real.

I use it as a spiritual enhancer because it makes me feel like there are spirits are in my house ^ ^ The first time I did it I saw a Tibetan version of Buddha (even though I'm not a Buddhist [specifically]) and immediately felt so much awe and reverence that my whole spirit had shifted for weeks afterwards. That same trip I saw what I first thought were ghosts, but soon realized were Small Gods representing positive and negative spiritual force.

This being said it must be treated with a lot of spiritual respect. I looked it up thoroughly starting a year even before I planned to obtain it so that I could feel comfortable enough to do it. I looked up all the reports I could find on DPT, 4-HO-DPT, 4-AcO-DPT and 5-MeO-DPT and took note of both the positive and the negative experiences. I realized that I definitely need the right music, that I should not have so many people around that it's hectic but that I might need support, that I should keep the dose low to start (I started with 25 mgs IM, followed by 30 mgs MXE to boost), and that I should expect wierd and crazy but also human and spiritual.

I always treat it like a ceremony; smudging/lighting incense, finding the perfect music, making a comfortable open space. I let the drug sit in water in a syringe for at least an hour before putting it in my body, a ritual I had made starting the first time I'd injected it. I try to make each of my experiences on DPT well thought out, deliberate and meaningful. I have had bad experiences where I have rushed into it without cause or reason and gotten uncomfortable, unhappy chaos back. Set and setting is incredibly important with this one.

Music is incredibly important with this drug as well. It helps to guide the experience and give context to the feelings. I like to listen to sets or compilations that are at least an hour long so it can ride me through the most intense part of the experience. I prefer down-tempo, dubby, or glitchy music because those are the feelings I like to have on DPT. My favorite thing to listen to is a set by Melo.nade called Ottoman Audible (look it up, you won't regret it).

Don't be scared, but always show respect. Happy trippings!

It is the most intense drug I have ever tried. Out of LSD, nbome's, mushrooms, DMT, MDMA, you name it...DPT takes the cake for intensity. I remember being able to see electromagnetic energy, even being able to see the energy within my iphone in my third eye; that is, I could see this energy with my eyes closed, but it was obviously in the rectangle shape of my phone. Not to mention it was the first time I experienced 'entity contact'. Of course I was highly disappointed when I tried to share these experiences with the bluelight community, resulting in a flood of skepticism and my thread being closed. Pretty whack.

They say to only take DPT if you are seeking a 'peak experience'. I would agree.

It's illegality is the main prob - I am sure people would buy it if they could; it was certainlt one of the best dispite the difficulty of use

Who told you it was unscheduled? In the UK it's the same class as heroin and the US has it scheduled under the analogue act. My guess is that's why it's as hard to get as all the other class A RCs.

Interesting, on a DPT experience some years back I remember standing on my deck in the Summer with my eyes closed and felt a large swirling vibration swing past my head. In an instant I opened up my eyes and noticed it was a bird that flew close. But I felt like I experienced it's vibration first and then through my sense of sight and sound back into the bird it was. Very interesting. The term vibration comes to mind when I think of DPT.

Saying that it is a psychedelic on par with many other intense substances. IMO no more or less. But yes, I am surprised we don't see more of it. I haven't in years. Maybe it will make a comeback.

If DPT is scheduled under the analogue act in the US then MET should be as well, as they are both homologues of DMT. By extension 4-ho-MET ought to be scheduled under the act, yet it's popular. "Analogue" is not well defined legally so I don't doubt someone possessing it could be prosecuted under the act, but I don't think its prosecutability is any greater than far more widely available psychedelic RCs. I'd imagine it'd be easier to get a chemist on the stand to say 4-AcO-DMT is an "analogue" of a schedule I substance than DPT.

In my opinion, a big reason for DPT's unpopularity in the US not yet mentioned is that to get the most out of it means injecting (unpopular) or snorting a lot of material (persistent drip). Oral doesn't work, at least not at cost effective doses. I'm guessing this means vendors have to accept less profit per mg for a compound relatively few customers are willing to work with. NBOMes are massively profitable by comparison.

That said, DPT has been part of more profound and blissful experiences of mine than any other drug, and I've been a psychedelic RC user for over a decade.

^^

Do they still sell rc's openly in the US after the big busts of 2004? I thought they raided all the RC suppliers and gave them all 15 years.

That sort of thing always happens to me after my most intense trips. It sucks - the best trips are just so far away from ordinary sober reality that you can't really effectively communicate them to anyone, and you're just stuck having to keep it to yourself, which feels kinda lonely sometimes. :\
