FLAME WAR!!!!!!!!
ok, i personally question everything. not just mainstream media, but accounts from friends, stories i hear in the process of doing my job, even myself. i refuse to take anything for granted, and i certainly don't accept too many things at face value. especially this story. i think there's many things behind it which we don't know, and which we never will. i don't think the girl had the pill forced down her throat. i think she took it of her own volition, and then had second thoughts, or maybe someone else is involved who is not in the media picture (boyfriend, friends, husband, fairy godmother, etc.) and forced the story out. i think the police maybe used this story, no matter how dodgy it sounds, as a propaganda vehicle for their "drugs are bad, mmmmmkay" policy. and i think the media have sensationalised it because, well, because they fucking well can.
and then again, maybe it did happen exactly as it was reported. oh, and pigs may fly as well.
sorry, but i'm just an old jaded, suspicious, paranoid, skeptical mother-f***er.
and don't ever believe that what you get in mainstream media is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. many times, the truth has nothing to do with it.
ps. the media is not there to sell news to you, it's there to sell you as a consumer to the advertisers. think about it, otherwise why ratings and circulation audits?
pps. i just realised my rant has nothing to do with the thread topic or drug discussion, but hey, i was just going with the flow. sowwy.
