Police Hunt Perth Pill-pusher

FLAME WAR!!!!!!!!
ok, i personally question everything. not just mainstream media, but accounts from friends, stories i hear in the process of doing my job, even myself. i refuse to take anything for granted, and i certainly don't accept too many things at face value. especially this story. i think there's many things behind it which we don't know, and which we never will. i don't think the girl had the pill forced down her throat. i think she took it of her own volition, and then had second thoughts, or maybe someone else is involved who is not in the media picture (boyfriend, friends, husband, fairy godmother, etc.) and forced the story out. i think the police maybe used this story, no matter how dodgy it sounds, as a propaganda vehicle for their "drugs are bad, mmmmmkay" policy. and i think the media have sensationalised it because, well, because they fucking well can.
and then again, maybe it did happen exactly as it was reported. oh, and pigs may fly as well.
sorry, but i'm just an old jaded, suspicious, paranoid, skeptical mother-f***er.
and don't ever believe that what you get in mainstream media is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. many times, the truth has nothing to do with it.
ps. the media is not there to sell news to you, it's there to sell you as a consumer to the advertisers. think about it, otherwise why ratings and circulation audits?
pps. i just realised my rant has nothing to do with the thread topic or drug discussion, but hey, i was just going with the flow. sowwy.

...and I think its a bloody shame if the circumstances are correct, that everyone is here lessening the importance of this girl's experience.
Forcing drugs upon someone is worse than physical assault.
The only thing that could be worse than throwing that particular combination down someone's throat is giving them a sedative and then onto the logical conclusion of rape, or some sort of hallucinagenic.

I believe that most people who take drugs are the type of people to question most things anyway. As kids we were told "drugs are bad mmmkay, dont do drugs" as out parents drank their scotchs and smoked cigarettes.
Same goes for most things is life. Perhaps with me it has to do with being young and questioning everything. I guess i've become far too cynical for my own good, however I believe its incredibly important to question anything you dont believe in (and some things you do), and as well as questioning the situation, do some research on it as well.
This message board has taught me to question a LOT of things, things I wouldn't normally have questioned, and thats a really good thing i believe. No one is blinder than those who don't want to see.
Now on to the article.
dropped: You have attacked a few people claiming we dont know the whole story. Unfortunately, thats not our fault. We have been given this article and we are forced to make out own conclusions from it. Had the article been more comprehensive, then yes, perhaps we wouldn't be second guessing so much, but as babydoc pointed out, it has far too many flaws in it to be plausable. I guess i'll leave it at that, as most points have been covered.
Probably the person i've learnt most about all this (questioning the media/life/everything) has been johnboy. He has taught be to leave no stone unturned, however it is always important to remain neutral because approaching something with a biased view will always end up a little skewed and you probably wont question your own beliefs.
Anyway... thats my little rant
horse :)

i dont trust kinds of reports in the media.
and i definately dont trust australian police when it comes to matters of drugs. after knowing a few cops for a few years. i never will.
