I haven't made it yet, but I will within a week. I can bump up this thread with the results when i do it.
The problem with pod tea is that if you want a strong dose, say maybe 10-20 big pods (your mileage may vary, don't let my dose fuck up your life), it ends up being a damn big hunk of plant material. And to make the tea, you do sort of want the material to "swim" a bit, meaning that you need at least enough water to cover it, and it will likely be more effective if you cover it well.
Also, for a larger amount of pods, no matter how hard you squeeze that shit in a t-shirt or whatever you use to filter, the larger the plant bulk the more water (and goodies) that you cannot easily physically squeeze out. This calls for a second extraction, or a larger amount of water to begin with (to dilute whatever amount will be stuck in the plant matter.
Thus enters pod putty. Use as much damn water as you need to get everything you want out of it, then evaporate it. No foul tasting tea. No distended tea-filled belly. Less GI disturbance (which I've noticed is often due to the harshness and volume of the tea rather than the alkaloids), too.
Also, if you are a plugger, you can get the liquid down to a manageable amount. There has been at least one person on this board to say they have plugged pod tea, and at least one more who has plugged SEED tea.
I can't imagine the turkey baster olympics they must have had to do to get the whole dose.
