I know it well. This made me picture that tubgirl jpeg lol (don't look that up if you don't already know).
A Grind band used it as a cover for their album, I cannot forget it sadly.

Did you stop methadone cold turkey? Wow, then morphine withdrawals will probably feel like a «walk in the park» for you.
Are you on a stable prescribed morphine dose from a doctor? How did you run out? I’m guessing you took a bit extra for a few days. Fucking opioids always do that. Right when you think you’re stable, one slightly higher dose and you start slipping again. Weirdly, I never had that issue with benzos. I’ve got a stash and it just sits there, I only take the prescribed dose and everything’s fine.
My advice is don’t make impulsive decisions and call your doctor to cancel the prescription, because one day later there’s a very high chance you’ll regret it.
The shitty thing is that it’s actually easier not to use when you’re in withdrawal. You feel sick, you’re tired of this life, half the time you don’t even want to take anything. Not that you wouldn’t if you had it though lol. The hard part is when the withdrawals are gone and you’re feeling okay and sober again. That’s when the inner restlessness and thoughts start creeping in.
But honestly, it sounds like you’re doing really well. Have you decided to quit forever? Obviously that’s relative. I’m asking because of the thing with your doctor, since when you’re sick or down to your last doses you think “yeah whatever, I’ll quit, fuck it” or “I’ll just stay off for 2 or 3 weeks,” but once the withdrawals are over, you know how it goes.
