Opioids Please help me distract myself during opioid cold turkey?

3 effective ways to distract when your body is going throug opioid withdrawal.

1, If you can get promethazine, pregabaline, and A LOT of benzodiazepines + clonidine or tizanidine ( tizanidine is very useful try to get it, or clonidine.
This is the most important group of sedatives, some of them also reduce tension, provide muscle relaxation, reduce pain, nausea, vomiting and you will suffer much less.
Promethazine or if u can't get promethazine u need something like hydroxyzine, even low dose mirtazapine is great but promethazine is the best suited for this.
Now your problems can be further reduced by paracetamol, 1000mg.
The goal is to fall asleep and u can when u take sedatives i mentioned if u eliminate diarrhea - LOPERAMIDE.
Now you will get throuh it. It's never like not being at wd but your suffering can be much less intensive. Sleep is the best time during wd - so go for it.

2, It sounds like bullshit but amphetamines, the best would be good meth.
Times would pass faster, u will be always providing distraction because u will have will and feel maybe even some joy from any activity and music, etc.
Drink 1000ml of water u put 6 teaspoons of sugar, half of teaspoon of salt. Sip it though the day and drink additinol water if possible.
Huge dose of b6, magnesium, D, C, Zinc, Iron one per day is really making difference.
You can let the diarrhea untreated if u drink solution and vitamines, minerals i mentioned.

Combo of this and first way can be interesting but your body will deal with A Lot of damage which u have to reduce by taking all these otc supplements and solution which makes your body actually using the water and not instantly get rid of it.

3, Movement - Long, hours lasting walks until u drop down to your bed and wake up later.
Big distractions for your mind and I know that this is something to do when u can't longer be inside and dealing with nasty fucking great at making u suffer experience.

Did you stop methadone cold turkey? Wow, then morphine withdrawals will probably feel like a «walk in the park» for you.

Are you on a stable prescribed morphine dose from a doctor? How did you run out? I’m guessing you took a bit extra for a few days. Fucking opioids always do that. Right when you think you’re stable, one slightly higher dose and you start slipping again. Weirdly, I never had that issue with benzos. I’ve got a stash and it just sits there, I only take the prescribed dose and everything’s fine.

My advice is don’t make impulsive decisions and call your doctor to cancel the prescription, because one day later there’s a very high chance you’ll regret it.

The shitty thing is that it’s actually easier not to use when you’re in withdrawal. You feel sick, you’re tired of this life, half the time you don’t even want to take anything. Not that you wouldn’t if you had it though lol. The hard part is when the withdrawals are gone and you’re feeling okay and sober again. That’s when the inner restlessness and thoughts start creeping in.

But honestly, it sounds like you’re doing really well. Have you decided to quit forever? Obviously that’s relative. I’m asking because of the thing with your doctor, since when you’re sick or down to your last doses you think “yeah whatever, I’ll quit, fuck it” or “I’ll just stay off for 2 or 3 weeks,” but once the withdrawals are over, you know how it goes.

Decided you're VERY correct. Some days I cannot walk (obv, not like paralysis, but I need assistance from my dad or brother to walk from either the couch or my bed to the bathroom as I can't walk that far unaided) without Morphine.
This is the entire reason I poo-pooed trying Subutex. It would block any other opioids working, which is great in staying sober but terrible if you NEED pain meds.

And I DIDDDDD cold turkey from 50mg Methadone, but I was alcohol dependant then, too, so I basically used alcohol the same way a lot of people use benzos in opioid withdrawal to relax the body and mind and help you not feel the withdrawal and intensely. Plus, if it got reeallyy bad with diarhea I'd shoplift loperamide [not condoning this, but I was in a homeless hostel at the time, no money) or just drink until I passed out.

73 hours in...withdrawal reaches it peak by 72 hours, right? Like, it won't continue getting worse?

Took Loperamide today (72mg). Gonna try and wait at least 2 days before taking lope again (if I do at all), because I was having "trap-door" diarrhoea LITERALLY every 15 minutes [like, have you guys seen that tsumani scene in The Impossible?] and my kidneys function at 70% which isn't terrible but DOES mean I have to be very careful about dehydration reducing their function further. People with diabetic renopathy *have* suffered kidney failure due to opioid withdrawal before.

Playing Tribal Wars with friends helped me through alcohol withdrawal. I know it's an old school, non-graphics game but it's strategic and you have to think about everything you do, from building your first village and troops to joining a tribe and attacking other villages while defending your own. There is in-game chat, which helps keep your mind off things. It became less interesting when players became able to buy their way to success; the game used to be totally free. I had trouble concentrating on it during the alcohol wd but it definitely helped a lot.
