Pills circa 19xx Get all your pill nostalgia discussion done here

im an old cunt now and the years are getting hazy but i remember something in the pills was changing as early as 1991,people getting sick,bad trips etcim pretty sure from then on the pills have gone downhill non stop.reading all these posts has brought back a lot of memorys,im not surprised people still remember the snowballs!! fuck me....

You're right in that crap 'pills' certainly started appearing as early as 1991 but compared to the crap that came later they were still few and far between in 1991. And the good E's, which were the vast majority, were well-made high dose MDMA.

You're right though in that 1991 seemed to kick start the ripping off and more and more adulterants started to find their way in. By late 1994 we even had the first ketamine pills. They made a few people sick. (I loved them, but it was sad to see them masquerading as ecstasy).

And without trying to kick off the science debate once again (though it probably will) it seems to a lot of old-timers that it was around 1997, after a 3 month drought (the first), that something really changed with the recipe. I'll leave it there.

red and black caps = Dennis the Menaces

red and yellow caps = Rhubarb n Custards

Flatliners were brilliant pills (so were the strawberry ones that came out shortly after that) -

Phase 4's were amazingly strong pills

Im surprised you never mentioned 'Supermen' as they were out around the same time - again another brilliant pill.
 
TBH all this talk of old pills in a way is a bit rubbish IMO. Don't get me wrong, the best pills were them days for sure! But the likes of the old doves people rave about were tested as 130mg. Last year or two I've had pills like blue Mitsu triangles ~ 145-180mg, Crosses ~ 126mg + caffine, the big "S" pills ~ 130-140mg, those Cherries, Speckled doves, and even the high batch of Windmills were pretty kung fu pills! %)

I know in general they were better and more consistant back then. I'm just saying I believe alot of it is nostalgia. Like I miss those blue Playstations. <3 But in my opinion it was 2006-7 when the pill scene really went to fuck. And MDMA Crystal is faaaar better anyway!!! =D

First time I've seen anyone mention those and it's a positive mention.
In the papers they said they were up to 40 times stronger lol.
When I got one I thought I'd been had with an aspirin, that thought didn't last long.

Eh? Are you being serious? I never said I don't feel nostalgic about some pills. I was just saying how I missed the blue playstations aswell. Was merely stating I feel some of the more recent pills in the 2000's have been as good as the 90's. Although I imagine nothing would have been as good as the snowballs were.
 
Flatliners were 4-MTA. I bought one in a smart shop in Amsterdam - after they had been banned there. They were banned because they semed to kill people a bit too easily.

They had almost none of the euphoric power of mdma so saying they 'were 40x stronger' is a bit meaningless.

Oh and Codshit - fuck off whippersnapper. ;)

your prob right mate,i dont put myself up as an kid of "expert"but as someone who has taken the drug for nearly 25 years im sure theres more to it than just mg of mdma,actual quality of the drug must be vital and im pretty sure things went tits up a LOT of years ago...all the best...erik
 
You are right mate, synths have changed over thee years. But also doing something for 25years it won't be what it once was. Also you must concider alot of pills back in the 90's etc had MDA or MDEA mixed in them. It's a factor to take into concideration whether it's that thats missing or the synth that changed for you. I've been doing pills 5 years, I'm no veteran, but I do try to know as much as I can about the drugs I do and only do the very best. To me MDMA Crystal is still one hell of a drug. More loved up and intense come up than any pill. I preffer clean MDMA to MDA anyway as the comedown isn't as bad and MDA isn't as empathetic.
 
I never thought much of most of the MDMA crystal around compared to the powder you used to get ten(+) years ago, it feels sort of over stimulating and rough round the edges. Would have preferred the pills I used to get then to crystal as well. The only crystal that compares is the stuff thats like glass (read a newspaper through it) and I haven't seen any of that for a few years.

could not have put it better mdma years ago had much a less "speed" aspect than the stuff now.....

All bar one, who had taken loads of it,of the about 5 people that died from taking it in '97-'98 had taken other drugs.
Bit like the mephedrone deaths.

No, not quite. Most of these 'other drugs' you speak of were MDMA, MDEA, and adulterants of ecstasy pills. In other words, the victims either took other e pills too (which were adulterated) or the flatliners themselves contained adulterants. In one case opiates and other drugs were taken.

4-MTA appears to have two 'conflicting' chemicals at work which are dangerous in combination. Something certainly stopped chemists making any more in large amounts.
 
Best MDMA I had was cooked up by some chemistry student. It was absolutely clear and fucking mental stuff. He'd washed it 5 times so I guess it was about 95% pure or so.

Best pills? They had a big O on them. White, could have been 02? Like oxygen? Can't remember really, was fucking mashed off one. A good 150mg dose easy.

Second best, yellow playstations from around 2004-5. Had 2 and came up so strong I instantly puked everywhere in a pub then just lay about basking on the floor of a packed pub. Pretty embarrassing now I think about it.
