[Photography/Pics Thread] Dump your random Phone/Camera/Randomly taken pics 'ere <3

yup. sort of. i mean, its a camera effect basically thats supposed to make it look tilt shifted. but it came out surprisingly ok

it is hard to find an appropriate subject for that
originally it was a 4m boat ;)

lovely pic bearlove! i actually think the sky is pretty great there...

Thank you (and Ali) for your feedback :), sort of make the random looks from the public when I was laying on the ground / taking shots via remote :D worth while :D

i didn't take this next one - found it on the web - but it's a great shot of the cemetery in the context of its location in downtown buenos aires:

Sunset from the other night...

One I just snapped of my cat... I really should get one of the other one but it's not as photogenic.

Love this. Beautiful looking cat, looking very snug.

Love this shot - it's out of focus etc, camera sort of fucked up in the cloud region and the focal point is so small.

(My photo)

Very different, BearLove. I like. Nice attempt at employing a little creativity into the picture.

Wow, that could land in a modern art gallery! weird location, where is it?

Shame the camera isn't too good at capturing the sun, 'coz this would be a brilliant shot which really shows off the country side.

You take some fine holiday snaps, Ali. I've already started looking into holiday prices to the sierra Nevada, thanks to your last selection. These are beautiful also, makes me want to visit.

Hash yoghurt with a pretty pattern.%)

Well this is a rubbish picture. Hash in yoghurt?? Everyone has seen that before, and I see no "pretty pattern". Surely there's better things you can photo?

I was there, 2012 - got some really great photos of that place and the random art work sprayed around the place (I think it was you that uploaded some the other day). Did you go to the Jewish Museum ? If your into photography (Or Jewish history) then its really worth the visit - I wanted to go purely for photography reasons, took the shots I wanted and left. We had so much fun in the bars there, really relaxed crowd.

Nice shots - they seem pretty bright for you. Might sound a bit strange but I was in a lovely cemetery in Helsinki - took some amazing shots but they seem 'private'? I think it was a public holiday so people had been lighting candles etc, when I arrived there was nobody just flickering candles.

I'll have another look over them and try and upload one.

i was in berlin in 2013 and indeed got some good photos, but had only a compact point and shoot camera with me, and i did indeed upload some of he art around the place. sadly my time there was short so i couldnt visit all the places i wanted to, and the jewish museum didnt fit in somehow. went with a walking tour and the monument was on the route and had only a few minutes to shoot what i thought was interesting. seems like a place to take a better camera and more time to frame and focus shots.
berlin bars are among the best ive been to really

its interesting how cemeteries make for such a compelling subject. a place of passage, of profound change and at the same time great equality, sometimes in spite of ourselves. which reminds me, have you heard of "the happy/merry cemetery"? its in Romania. Old custom to be burried there with a little cross at your gravesite bearing a small poem and a bit of (folk) art... not every story there is happy, and some depict more the death and place blame ..

i didnt take these but its a good way to get an idea of the place

I have to go back to Berlin - had so much fun :).

I'm not sure how I ended up in the cemetery in Helsinki, I tend to avoid them as they confuse me 8(. Taking photos of graves, It's sort of the point of them to remember the dead but surely its private, but if its private why make a huge deal over it etc (not being cold hearted or callous, I personally do not understand it). I have some photos of some burial mounds - no markings, no decorations, just mounds of earth - some have been robbed so the actual burial area is showing (normally just bricks) - it sort of strips death down to the minimum - dead in the ground, covered up.

I personally don't want any stone - or grave - or anything like that, when they are finished harvesting whatever is left/of use, the hospital can do what they like with me.

i dont think they put the stone there for the deceased, but for those left behind... sure, you keep your loved ones in your heart and your memory, but having a place for them, spatially, can be of comfort to some people.
death is a big part of life, and a very personal one too, so how one deals with it can have a lot of significance. or not, depending on where you stand.
