the crowd has changed over the years. you still got people that go on tour and sell shit on the lot, from food to shirts to stickers to drugs to booze and whatever, but it's an older crowd for the most part now. you may end up standing next to a doctor or a lawyer or a chickenscratch that used to tour a bunch, but now is all grown up and goes to a couple of shows a year and blows it out proper. yes, they sell out every show. they play madison square garden for 4 nights every new years and every show sells out in about 5 minutes. billy joel got pissed because he wanted to play there last new years and they denied his old ass and he got all butt hurt and called phish a "second rate cover band." so yea, they're huge here.
widespread panic toured Austrailia and NZ in 1998 before a big stand in paris and a few other shows in europe. wish i could've made those shows. they were really good that year. phish has toured all over europe and japan, but no AUS or NZ that i know of.
