PHISH: Official summer tour thread

They're better than 09 right now. First leg of summer was kinda weak, but they finished really strong.

I drove all the way to Rochester for a bit of a disappointing show a couple weeks ago. Couldn't score tickets for Glen Falls, but what are ya going to do. Still had an enjoyable time at the old War Memorial (Blue Cross). I don't think I had been in that building since a DARE graduation in like 1990. Bit of a different atmosphere this time around.

That's it for the Phishes for me this year. They finished out fall tour strong from the shows I have been able to hear. So happy to still have this band.

t00r opener at great woods last night. all originals (no covers), 5 songs off the new album. second set looks really solid.

They boys are starting to do what the dead did, which on 1 hand it's cool not to have to make a straight barge 15 hours but on the other hand staying in one place for a few days really REALLY takes a toll more noticeably in your 30s.

NEXT stop: Philly............. yeah......... :) See you there :)

oh...and not one cover yet. this all points to them doing a full cover show at dicks that spells something dumb.

i was at night 1

anyone who went to car during storm was not high
fuck that storm ruined my peaceful headspace

was my first time phishing - sat in lawn(blocks out talkers) with eyes closed whole show, first set was great
i might see them again, def not a band i'd every roll solo to - i need some intimacy with my crunchy grooves

i was really hoping chickensratch would call me a custy faggot that doesn't belong at phish shows, maybe if i admit that halfway to the moon was my favorite song that night - not that sparkle and it's ice didn't kick ass...but seriously the 2nd set kind of sucked, the ghost was sloppy as fuck and harry hood and tweezer were underachieving dogshit
i only went because my best friends in world offered me a free ticket, gas, and party favors
i just had to promise to be designated driver - at least without alcohol in my system

I went to Randall's island expecting to bring along a friend with me or meet another friend at the concert. Neither wound up happening to i wandered around shakedown street in the parking lots to entertain myself before the show started in like 3 hours(yes, I did get there early to go to shakedown, as it is an integral part of any phish show is the show BEFORE the show. Phish is really a great band, but there's something about the fanbase that just speaks to me and i just seem to get along with them on a much better level than the general population! I wandered around buying a jello shot and 3 PBRs for a grand total of $7 bux, which i thought was pretty good. I thought I should at least wait to drop LSD an hour before the show, so that I would start my trip when the music starts. But I was there 3 hours early so I decided to get a sloppy alcohol buzz before my L kicked me back into gear

I literally walked into this group who just sorta adopted me into their circle. i offered them some L i had and they offered ketamine. this continued pre, during and post show.

I don't think Phish has ever toured Australia or NZ. Probably a reason for that.

I remember a exchange student put me onto them first year of Uni, 93-94 and I had completely forgotten about them until chicken scratch started to get all heedy.

Meh, I enjoy them but they are no Gomez…… ;)

the crowd has changed over the years. you still got people that go on tour and sell shit on the lot, from food to shirts to stickers to drugs to booze and whatever, but it's an older crowd for the most part now. you may end up standing next to a doctor or a lawyer or a chickenscratch that used to tour a bunch, but now is all grown up and goes to a couple of shows a year and blows it out proper. yes, they sell out every show. they play madison square garden for 4 nights every new years and every show sells out in about 5 minutes. billy joel got pissed because he wanted to play there last new years and they denied his old ass and he got all butt hurt and called phish a "second rate cover band." so yea, they're huge here.

widespread panic toured Austrailia and NZ in 1998 before a big stand in paris and a few other shows in europe. wish i could've made those shows. they were really good that year. phish has toured all over europe and japan, but no AUS or NZ that i know of.
