Percocet usage at age 13

Exactly. Besides, can you imagine how devastating that would for those who love you. You'd also be imprisoned In addition and hell as from this age?

You'll never have a chance in life. I mean, even if you succeed managing your addiction what would you go back to in the future? To a mind of a pre-teenager..

Too early. I know you don't wanna hear this, but please, give it a thought. It's your life. And you can't undo certain things..

This is actually pretty sad.

opiate use is a one way road to addiction, one high at a time imo

you should just drop the rec use altogether, if you worry about getting dependent, than that's time to jump off. also you're really young and getting addicted at that age will suck major dick since it'll ruin all your following years and the memory of getting high on opiates will be deeply impregnated in your brain, it's just a terrible idea

better save the opiates for a really shitty day... and that's it, IMO

That's quite right!

@ThatSpaceyKid-

Good cautionary post.

Stick around here, Love. There's always hope.

Always.

Peace.

If you keep using Percocets or other opiates you're going to wind up addicted. Be careful.

A lot of people I know got addicted to opiates because of being prescribed them, and some of them do wind up using heroin and other drugs. You're 13 and should not be using or abusing any sort of drugs at all. Eventually you will get caught using percocets or being high on them; but it could be for the best. Why are you prescribed them at 13?

@abetterway

Yes I do understand what withdrawals are.

You asked what the reason I use is.

I would say the reason I use is because I have social anxiety and and I get depressed some times. I do think about getting high everyday and crave it a lot. I do come from a good family and higher middle class. The people I am surrounded by at school use drugs just as much or more than I do. Also thank you everyone for the advice but I do not have the willpower to stop and I can't just smoke weed bc I get drug tested for it 1-2 a week.

There are far better ways to treat your social anxiety than using percocet. Stop now while it is still a matter of willpower and not also a physical addiction involved.

I've known a few people who started on crystal meth and/or opiates between the ages of 10 and 14.

Most came from addict families and they're all addicts today. I can't think of one who doesn't either have a problematic substance use habit or is in prison. It's a bad time in your life to get involved with those kinds of drugs for sure.

You have been bewitched by the ugly face who seeks to take everything from you. Just know.... There is no going back once your a full blown addict... Prepare to walk hand and hand with the damned. Welcome to your Hell... You will be the one who brought your end on yourself.... Soon you will lose friends and family because your nothing but a hopeless addict. Your going to start getting rid of your things, but far worse your going to steal from those you love... There isn't a casual drug user they don't exist. I don't care how much your use is "Moderated" it doesn't matter your still playing the dangerous game... Killing yourself slowly... Your going to lose out on good times, school memories, sports, your first love, your chances of a good career, going to college, starting on your own, getting your first car, your youth, possibly your freedom if you get caught.... All I can say is.... What the fuck. If they found Opiates in you your going to be in A LOT more trouble then if you smoked weed... Weeds harmless.. I don't understand why people try to stop weed users....

Purely in terms of physical and emotional risk you're infinitely better off smoking weed than you are abusing opiates; if you're getting regularly tested then your best bet would be to try to transition off the Percocet as soon as possible and use kratom to help manage any dependency or withdrawal symptoms you may have. Kratom is legal in the US and can be bought from a wide variety of places; its active compounds are mu-opioid antagonists, but it has far fewer side effects than traditional opiates, much less risk of respiratory depression, and won't show up in most standard drug panels. If you're having issues with depression and social anxiety then I'd advise you to try to find (or see if you can get your parents to help you find) a trained therapist who can use CBT to help you work through these issues, and stay away from most hard drugs until you're much closer to 18.

I would like to know more about kratom, can you tell me more?

Hi youngbird,

I'm glad to see you checked back. I have limited knowledge on kratom, so I'll leave that to someone better educated and experienced to explain.

Would you be willing to discuss why you use drugs? It could be boredom, curiosity, trying to cope with troubling feelings and/or situations, etc etc. I ask because I might have some alternative ideas that could help. I just need to know the reasons, first, to make appropriate suggestions.

I understand that it might sound very far-fetched to you, what everyone is saying about how this could so quickly and easily spiral out of control. Also, these things get glamorized in the media at times. There's another, very dark side. The image of the tortured soul using, losing everything, and rising like a phoenix from ashes with new awareness, inspired and ready to take life on, is not the usual course in reality. Far more often, you'll find that others begin to leave, give up on you, judge you, etc.

I'm not exactly conservative in my views on drugs, and for example I'm all for legalizing marijuana. Just so you know I'm not some dope with no knowledge or experience trying to use ridiculous scare tactics on you :-)I No; education and awareness in my opinion is a better route than using scare tactics, lies and exaggerations.

I'm happy to share my experiences with you if you're interested. Let me know. I have experience with methamphetamine (which never ends well lol), and weed, pills, and harder opiates. I'm happy to talk about it if you want :-)

And if you'd like more information about withdrawal from opiates, let me know, too. It's part of using opiates regularly.

Please take care. If you're still taking the pills, do some research about the APAP in them and how much is safe to take in general. Your liver will thank you for these precautions :-) The body and brain are still developing at your age, and the people expressing concern about that are wise.

I'm glad you're here :-)

Peace.

I use them for all of my problems to be honest, but sometimes I do use them just to have a good time playing xbox or to be more social at school. I find that I use them everyday now, yet it still feels like I haven't used them for a long period of time the next day even if I used them the day before.

I would love to hear any story's you would like to tell!!!!

@abetterway thanks

Alright, sweetheart, I'm glad to. I'll be back around later tonight... worst case scenario, I'll be here in the morning. Actually, starting tomorrow I'll be going through opiate withdrawal. Not looking forward to it AT ALL.

Knowing I'm going to be ill and quite possibly pretty useless for at least the next few days, I'm just trying to get some things done tonight before the withdrawals kick in.

I will retirn, and tell you a bit about my history of drug use, and all of the consequences I've personally experienced. (And I'm writing this here so I don't forget: I will tell you about opiate tolerance and how it could possibly impact you in a very bad way if, in the future, you're ever in legitimate, awful pain from injury or illness, too.) I'm so happy that you're willing to hear about it :)

It's obvious that you're intelligent. And I know life can be so hard. Hopefully, we can.come up with some other possibilities for you to use to cope with negative feelings.

Ok, looking forward to talking more with you soon :) Take care for now.

Peace.

Edit: I don't know how I managed to miss your previous reply earlier in the thread and I see you answered some of my questions there. Sorry I missed that -I have been.checking back here daily, not sure how that slipped under my radar! I'm on my phone in mobile view and it shows your previous response at the bottom of page 1 of this thread. Anyway, I've read it now, and will take the things you said there into consideration when I respond later on :-)

Im telling u man u need to put an end to this now im not trying to preach but u are the making of a true opiate addict..u are ruining your life and u dont even know it..if u wana get fucked up go smoke some weed,maybe trip in a few years,get drunk with your friends and meet beautiful woman and fuck them stupid..u will make great memories doing those things while being fucked up but if u continue using opiates on a daily basis u will have none of those great memories

..ALL u will think about is getting that next pill..do u think u are smarter or stronger than the hundreds of ppl on this site that have struggled with opiates their whole lives?? In the beginning opiates seem like the answer to all your problems and worries..all reward with little risk but if u continue daily use it will turn into all risk with barely any reward.

U will have a great time being numb to your problems and being in total euphoria but those pills will take everything back from u and some..ive done almost every drug imaginable and opiates are the only one that can hook u like nothing else..humans seek pleasure and daily use will change your mind until u only receive pleasure from a pill and everything else in the world means nothing

..you will make your mind your worst enemy instead of your greatest tool..all people use drugs for the same reason..they like the way it makes them feel,its pleasurable

I stopped myself from using them daily and I'm sticking to every other day
10-20mg's

Still won't workout. You're so young and you're already moulding your brain into an addict. It's not just the immediate addiction you should be worrying about. It's the addiction to getting high on the whole. Oxy is the absolute worst place to start too.

I'm 18 now and been using drugs since 15 and without them I can't seem to find much fun elsewhere in my life. I've only recently started implementing things other than drugs in my life to have fun. If you start "rotting" your brain from that age you're in for a long run of finding yourself through drugs and it's unhealthy.

I know you probably won't listen to reason so good luck man. I hope you pull thru this all safely.

Really tho, what's wrong with weed lol?

Hey, hon. Haven't forgotten about you. Not feeling good at all from withdrawals. I'll erite a better post to you as soon as I can. Been in the bsthroom all morning...

A lot of good people showing you love here. What I think PoTuS said about the mind at the end of the post....very true. Very true.

Take care. Talk soon.

Peace.

^i hope u feel better ABetterWay

thats good that u stopped daily use.id suggest stopping for a few weeks just to prove to yourself u can..i was in your shoes man and i did not listen to my friend that used to be an opiate addict that told me i was fucked if i kept using..fast forward a few years and its insane how opiates are ingrained into who i am,its disgusting.i drive to the city and spend 100$ on opiates like i drive to work in the morning..without a second thought

oxy is not that far from heroin in potency and some ppl prefer oxy..so when u see those homeless ppl that lost everything to heroin and point and laugh with your friends know that u are on the same sinking ship..no matter how long the ship takes to sink u will be in the water and drown eventually

I cant make u do it but take it from an opiate addict himself this is a long dark road u are on,self medicating with opiates will only end badly there is NO good outcome

@P.o.T.u.s

I will definitely try to stop for a week to show that I could do it.

@Abetterway

Good luck with the withdrawals

I would like to add that I also have a script for vyvanse for adhd which I do use (to get high) on occasion just because I don't like upers very much, the script is for 30mg but I take 2 to get the desirable effects. I also don't actually have adhd I was just hyper when I was younger and not very well behaved so I got kicked out of catholic school and put into a special ed school for people with behavior problems not for people on the slow side. So I was diagnosed with adhd which when I was younger I may have had but then I made my parents take me off it and then I started smoking weed in the 5th grade but not on a regular basis till the 7th grade and towards the end of the 7th grade I stopped smoking because I used it as a crutch way to much and knew that if I stopped it would be the best for me. Then the 8th grade started and I found out about upers so I asked my mom to put me back on medication and she didn't think twice about it. But now I am a semi quiet kid, I am one of the most popular kids in my school pretty much everyone likes me, even the teachers. The teachers all look out for me and knew that I smoked weed and they all have a idea that I'm using harder drugs and they all pull me on the side and give me the talk about pills and how that leads to heroin even tho they arnt completely sure that that's what I do. But they think that bc I got caught being super fucked up on Xanax in school one time (that was the only time I ever did Xanax). Back to the beginning of 8th grade, so there was this new girl in my class who I liked and we ended up dating, she convinced me to start smoking weed again, so I started smoking a lot again. She drank a lot btw. She dont go to my school anymore but she is a pill head and alcoholic now from what I hear. I definitely had a mental addiction to marijuana, I am very prone to addiction bc I do have the addictive gene. I was adopted and my birth mother had to give me up because she was a drug addict (not sure what drug) I was adopted and my adoptive dad had a pill addiction and so did his mother who I never met and my adoptive moms dad drank a lot who I also never met. BEING ADOPTED DOES NOT BOTHER ME SO THAT IS NOT THE RESON THAT I USE SO PLEASE DONT SAY THAT!!!!! My dad is clean now btw. Just thought I would tell you guys that stuff.
