As with the majority of posters in this thread, suboxone costs about 7-8 per pill without insurance in northern NJ. However, i am fortunate enough to still be on my dads health insurance so my copay is $30. Doesn't matter if its 3 pills or 45, I still pay $30.

Without insurance, It was a 200$ Doc visit the first time. Prescription was 350$ for two 30 count bottles of 2mg Subutex. So half a grand for a month worth of help.....


I know he gave me 60 2mg pills because the 2mg cost more. I swear some of these Suboxone/Subutex doctors are just in it for the money.

When I got Suboxone from another Doc and through insurance it was 5$ for 27/17/15 count 8mg Suboxones. Always a different amount because I was on an actual regiment and she was trying to help me get off of it, unlike the Subutex doc. She said without insurance it would run around 200$ for my 27 count 8mg script.

The generic Subutex I get is the "Roxane" brand and although I haven't tried the RB brand of Suboxone, the generic Subs work well and are about half the price of brand name.

I get generic Ambien at Costco for cheap. 60x10mg is about $10.00

Also, I called Costco and they quoted me a price of $183.00 for 45x8mg (about $4.00 per pill) for generic Subutex, but said they would have to order it for me as they don't carry it in stock.

I pay $147.16 at Walgreens using the drug discount cards I downloaded and printed from various web sites.

Again, see my post on Page 2 of this thread for more information about the free drug discount cards, as they save me about .88 cents per pill, or about $40.00 per month.

For those of you paying cash/out of pocket for your Subs and your Dr. won't write you generics, then find a Dr. that will.

No one should have to pay $6-$10 for an 8mg pill of Suboxone when the much less expensive generic Subutex is available for about $3.50 per 8mg pill.

It pays to shop around.

Well, my Sub doc is actually smart, she not only knows Vyvanse can be abused, she actually knew before me! (I have no desire to try, I'm happy to have it even tho only 15% symptom mitigation with max dose Vyvanse & Strattera- legit AD/HD lol).

Hell, she also knows that any ROA is viable with Suboxone, we had a discussion about how dumb most docs are when both theoretically and in practice it can be shot, lol ;)

Thus, I don't know why she wouldn't script me generic Subutex, and you're right, Costco is great about ordering stuff they don't carry- I see her tomorrow, hoping to cut costs before I have to drop out of the program due to inability to pay bills :(

One more Q: Are the generic Subutex similar to the brand name in that they have no real taste? If so that's awesome! :D I HATE the orange taste, as do many, whereas I've had brand Subutex, just as effective (with a placebo effect of being more so since was in the psych ward lol) except white and no horrible taste!

i live in alabama and have bc bs with the insurance i get 56 a month and pay 60 dollars without insurance my pills are exactly 6 dollars a peice hope this helps
