Hahahah

I always liked Americans (despite occasional bitching about things). I could've been one too! When I was 2 years old my parents were on the brink of moving there, don't recall the exact city. I wonder how I would've turned out.
I’ve very limited experience myself, but Swansea Uni 1999 we had two diff American housemates. I connected with them on levels of understanding and insight, way over my other English and Welsh housemates.

They would just get it, what went over their naiver heads.

We had the best crack too (no, not crack cocaine Buzz lol, laugh I mean). I mingled with everyone at uni, including the little American dominated area of the beautiful green hilly village accomady.

So I liked a lot our two US housemates Jeff from Iowa and Iain, possibly Iowa too.

Oh Buzz, few things you would have loved then. Likely equal best PROPPPER skunk I ever had. Orange Bud, as soon as you walked in a house, tight wrapped in pocket, the girls great friends mine, rushed down saying…Oh my god! Are you smoking skunk?

Also proper OG dark sticky Purple Haze. Was like a 100 mic trip just having a bong.

But most of all, these sensational green Lime pills, like OG Snowballs, really trippy, stank heavenly of real ecstasy just MDA I’m sure.

You're right I would've loved that =D I've actually smoked both strains. I used to make trips to Amsterdam and return with all sorts of stuff. Those days are behind me but strains like Lemon Haze, Amnesia Haze and Tangerine Dream were absolute classics among friends.

The MDA... I mean, never tried it, but my hope is that it settles itself among the greatest recreational drugs I know of, which is currently only occupied with psychedelics.

I might've misunderstood the "bitching". My point was that Americans always seemed like very cheerful people, especially compared to some European countries.

Bitching about things doesn't necessarily imply not being cheerful

MDA proper that is, is mental.

The original 90’s Snowballs were legendary, 200 mg’s MDA each.

Those green limes, if you like psychedelics, you’d love. You can’t not love the very best ecstasy pills anyway, but they were mental. Like taking a trip, but on the rush of ecstasy.

One night, I had nabbed a rare tab of acid in the student village. I took it bout 10 pm. Ihad some Welsh mushrooms. I ate them 3 hours in. I took 2 of the incredible Lime pills, had the best skunk smoked in bucket bongs.

Wow, that combo I learnt then, LSD, Psilocybin and I’ll say… “ecstasy” but the politically correct do expect that to be used only in defence to MDMA when it’s like Sativa and a 40% hybrid for me, KIS lol.

Those 3 together, magic.

Idk, maybe since only a select few Americans can afford to travel abroad now, you might get a skewed view; at least in my experience, Americans embody the stereotype: loud, fat, obnoxious, and self-centered.

I don't really know how else to put it. I could talk a lot about where I think things went wrong (1980) but y'all don't want a lecture on my views about current history I'm sure lol

I find you see that in those obvious tourist spots, a lot of those uncreative stereotypical Americans you describe. When you get into more interesting and adventurous places, I've met some really amazing and cool people from the USA.

You don't see that many Americans abroad in general, you know, per capita. I think mostly because the country is just so damn diverse geographically there's a lot to explore within the borders. If americans want the tropics, they have Hawaii/Florida. If they want mountains, there's Colorado etc... I think there's also a bit of the effect of Americans generally being more insular and less curious about what's outside than other parts of the developed world. Maybe it's simply less cultural tradition of international travel.

Some of my favourite people I've met travelling have been Americans though. The ones that do explore can be super interesting folk.

Just got back from my business dinner. Man those guys are fun. Got to meet my latest boss for the first time in person, and the president and senior vice president who I went to dinner with a few months ago, and another of the senior vice presidents. Me and the funniest/most fun and most similar to my age SVP and I are staying at the same hotel so we're car pooling to the office in the morning for the next few days, and I drove him home from dinner. There was a lot of laughing, and a surprising amount of drug humor/allusions to drug use including several cocaine references and talk about partying. Apparently back ion the 80s they all used to bring in bottles of liquor to the office and had keg parties in the office sometimes.

It was a such relaxed atmosphere, very warm and welcoming, and beyond a doubt they are trying to welcome me into the "upper ranks". Feels good. :) We have a mysterious meeting in the morning which I feel like has something to do with me. So... feeling good about things! :)

So they say indeed.... I've always been well aware of all the praise :)

There are a lot of holes in my drug resume, most of which I can live with, but there are a couple "before I die" situations. I'll probably cringe at those choices and reasoning behind them someday.

I never came across MDA for so many years but now it seems like it keeps finding me, it's not uncommon at all, but I guess it just depends on what circles you run with. I know a lot of musicians and festival goers and it's quite common the US festival scene.

That's so awesome! I hope it continues going great! Just remember to stay grounded in your worth and don't allow all the talk to blind you to any behaviors. You seem like someone that probably puts a lot of your heart into anything you focus or invest in. If that's aligned with your purpose it's destined to be success.

I just registered today but lurked years ago when swim was a thing. When did it stop?
Welcome to bluelight!!

As far as I know it's never been allowed or encouraged in this community.

I started visiting around 2002 or so. Didn't join with my original account until 2007, though. Newly rejoined myself.

SWIM was a thing they started over at drugs-forum back in the day, it was never a thing here although a lot of people used to do it since it really caught on for a number of years. We always discouraged it because it doesn't actually provide any legal protection whatsoever and it's super annoying. At some point DF stopped doing it too. We made a rule against it eventually because it was so prevalent and was just getting ridiculous:

SWIM has a question about SWIM's pet gerbil's aunt's second cousin's FOAF. SWIM wonders if SWIM can take 2C-B. What does SWIY think?

That sort of babble.

I agree! It would at least be an interesting day for sure =D Do issue a warning before teleportation, not messing up the time space continuum should always be a priority
