Agreed.

I'm gonna be getting into some reading in the next couple weeks-currently looking towards psychedelia, mysticism and fringe science. I have a couple Robert Anton Wilson books queued up for starterz, and I'm also open to fiction along the lines of Philip K. Dick. Anyone have recommendations?

Have you read much of the psychedelic/affiliated literature?

(just to give a better idea)

I compiled a large list of related literature for the resources section of the MXE book (60+ books), much of which I have yet to really dig into, so there certainly isn't a lack of possibilities. I'm rather trying to narrow down the options with some recommendations from the top of y'alls heads.

What part did you play in the creation of this beauty?

I just mastered it. Sara gets the bulk of the credit. :) My first time trying to master anything actually, and I made some amateurish mistakes (it sounds too bass-heavy to me now, and I actually let it clip a little bit), but hey, I had fun.

I forwarded Sara the positive feedback you guys gave her... she was appreciative. :)

Well, if you get your pants wet over Zen like I do, then anything written by D.T. Suzuki is pretty great.

I don't know if you were here when I did before, but I can't, in good conscience, end this post without pleading you (and everyone else) to read Richard Dawkins. He would scoff at the accusation of being "spiritual" in any way, but you'll have a religious experience reading it. Rigorously precise and scientific yet artful language describes the simple principles which underlie all of life on earth.

I've heard of no refusal weekends and what-not, but not actual roadside checkpoints. I didn't even think that was legal. Imagine how bogged down traffic would be. Jesus.

They have those here in the Netherlands, too. It's sometimes considered to happen mostly when police haven't met their ticket quota but it is also part of a 'designated driver' campaign.

Wicked read - good old whiskyjack. I made the mistake of finishing somewhere between book 5 and 7- I can't remember which, so I know I'd probably have to start again. Either that or not have a fucking clue what's going on. They're hard enough as it is.

I'm on book 7. Fucking love these books, gotta thank swilow again for recommending them. Hardest fantasy books I've ever read, they're pretty dense and especially at first, you have no fucking idea what's going on. But it gets easier as you go because even though they keep unfolding in crazy ways, at least you've got a sense of how the world works later.

Epic in every sense of the word. I agree with swilow that they do get better as it goes too. The story is intricately intertwined, and there are so many characters.

Haha this is classic. =D I wish I could find my posts I made on my third day of ibogaine flood dose, I got on here while unsupervised and posted some absolute gibberish that scared some people since they knew I was doing ibogaine. I wish I could see what they were like now. At the time I remember proofreading them and thinking they seemed legible. I realized there were typos because typing was super difficult, but in fact they were entirely illegible.

Wtf? Is this a thing??? Like, roadside checkpoints on the highway or what? Fucking police state man. I best watch my drinking, luckily I'm staying within my 'burb. The stupid pub has deals on Miller but not Guinness, lol fuck this world!

Yeah man, you've never seen a DUI checkpoint? They don't do them everywhere. I've seen one where I live, but the smaller town where my girlfriend used to live around here sets them up every Saturday night along the only road you can really go places on. And also other random times. They just make everyone stop and they talk to you for a second usually, and if you seem intoxicated or they smell weed or think you seem sketchy they'll check it out. It works better in small towns because there isn't much traffic, I think you couldn't really make it work in cities except on side streets maybe, just too many cars.

Apparently it's a lot worse in Australia, from what I've heard.

^Yeah, trozzle mentioned a while back they do roadside drug checks, even worse I suppose cause if you smoked last week they might still pop you in Australia :\

I guess I'm lucky, I've never seen a roadside DUI stop before, even when I lived in a much smaller town. I figure here it would be much harder because the roads would get congested very quickly. Yepyep lives in another part of my area though and he was the one mentioning it, so now I'm like holy shit, I best be careful. Maybe they don't do it in my burb but I bet they do if I went up into the city for any events.

In any case, I can't believe such a thing is legal, both because it's extremely invasive and because it seems impossible to do someplace like a busy highway.

Curious if you have found the ultimate tongue twister word that you can use to assess how strong a dose of dissociatives you have taken? There's a few words that come to mind that I never seem to pronounce correctly when I've have a strong dose.

nice workout this afternoon. I rode my bike for maybe two hours and helped a friend with gardenwork, including digging up a small plot. accompanied by vaped bud and fine weather. springtime <3

I get random tongue-twisting on dissos, seems kind of random to me. It's not even necessarily on harder words that it happens randomly. Random.

Random.

Damn now the word seems like nonsense.

Last day before starting the new job... haven't really been feeling as excited about it as I thought I would, and in general feeling kinda blah... Been sick, though, so there's that. Ended up going through old CD collection looking for music I might not have on my PC -- something different, from the old days, and threw on Green Day's American Idiot. Forgot how awesome this album is.
