friday again!
now with a new PD social thread :) its starting out good....

now for the rest of the evening. what is everyone planning on?

im thinking about making a pineapple upside down cake on mushrooms, and then maybe sharing it with the elves

^That sounds very nice indeed!

Just took ~8 grams of bali kratom about 25 mins ago, starting to feel very nice and relaxed even though I haven't had any clonazepam for about two days now :)

...the fuck outta here clonazepam you scheister...

What are your plans for this evening kingme?

anyone ever try smoking DMT while on mushrooms? thinking about trying it tonight ~ heard that it gives the mushroom trip a DMT flavor ~ any thoughts?

I have never smoked DMT before but not to long ago I had eaten 3 grams of syrian rue followed half an hour later by a pretty small dose of mimosa in tea form, although I could definitely feel the DMT, it was pretty lackluster (only effects were a definite tryptamine 'off baseline' feeling and things looked 'jeweled' and very colorful), so at around an hour after drinking the MHRB I ate 1g of mushrooms and my oh my did that add quite a bit to the experience.

Not really relevant I know, just thought I'd share :)

Yeah, valerian is worse than alcohol for me in terms of benzo rebound. It makes me wake up with all the muscles in my legs spasming and my eyes twitching. Alcohol does that too to some extent, but usually only if I overdo it (I think because alcohol has a much more diverse binding profile than valerenic acid).

Hmmm I'll have to watch out for that, basically I'm treating it like a natural benzo. I haven't felt anything close to those effects but I'm also taking a bit less than recommended. The valerenic acid reminds me alot of sodium valproate, I'm finding myself pretty calm the next day but not in a washed out way. I like it, but at the same time knowing what you said about it I think it's gonna have to be a temporary grace-something to have on hand in case of bad insomnia or even anxiety. Like with benzos anymore than once or twice a week is going to have some long-term consequences for the GABA system.

Fucking Pee Dee social, always looking out for a fellow tripper <3 *daps*

^This by far the best area on the internet, imo. <3

Also I don't know how but I've never noticed your location, Patton. You live very close to me I bet.

Which of the following locations is closest to you, if you don't mind me asking; Thunder Bay, Toronto or Ottawa?

I love valerian. I dont know how much you're taking, or if you're taking a chemically manufactured extract ~ but i take capsules of the herb or tinctures, sometimes in combination with skullcap, hops, wild oat, st. johns wort, passionflower, etc ~ never had any negative side effects. A friend of mine says she gets nightmares when she takes Valerian, and I've heard that continual use can cause temporary mild depression.
I always have most of those herbs around for the occasional over caffeinated anxiety attack, insomnia, or for come downs from more intense drugs.

Yeah? There's a few other BL-ers in Southern Ontario, Psychonautical being one of them but he hails from London. I bump back and forth from Oakville to Guelph, I go to University in Guelph-one of the best University towns ever in my opinion. I occasionally go to downtown Toronto as I have some family there, and of course for shows and stuff, but I'm mainly in Guelph. Getting ready to head back to my home in Oakville actually, not as much of an interesting place but still at least decent.

valerian.. amazingly enough i bought some caps with varios plants (passion fruit and valerian root and such) from a natural produce store that i thought will have no effect, but they are rather ok at helping me sleep if i seem to stressed out or have too much of a caffeine buzz left at the end of the day.

ah, pre trip loading of the mp3player... sweeet!

I haven't, only eaten as is, or powdered and mixed with honey (which works wonderfully if you don't like the taste of mushrooms).

Actually I guess where I live doesn't count as Southern Ontario, I live somewhere between Toronto and Thunder Bay, although slightly closer to Thunder Bay.

Wow, 4 days of kratom resulted in me waking up in anguish today. Painful constipation, restlessness, flu light bodyload, etc. Little warning for me to watch myself. I'm not trying to experience the real deal.

lemon tek? what?! anyone ever try doing that to their mushrooms?

some have, apparently it makes some peak faster harder but makes the whole experience shorter.
might have something to do with the alkaloids being absorbed faster, but thats just a hunch

there was a thread about it somewhere, im sure. a big dandy one iirc.

speaking of which, my mushies are ready! and drying as we speak! :D

Haha my ex showed me SPM a couple months ago, good shit maaaan.

Fuckin a i hate waking up so late that I immediately have to leave for work at FOUR PEE EMM!!!!

Well I used to be a benzo addict, so I have a really sensitive GABA system. Valerian seems to upset it, but I think its relatively safe for people without GABA damage-- definitely less dangerous than benzos.

is the benzene ring the hexagon with double bonds?

Yep :)

Me too. Is that what it is - GABA damage?

Yeah, AFAIK (keep in mind I don't really know that much about neuroscience) its caused by loss of polarizability of the GABA complex-- as in, its harder for the GABAergic neurons to fire and inhibit excitation of excitatory neurotransmitter systems (mainly glutamate).
