Stay strong, man. <3 Beating benzo dependence is a major event in life, like fighting in a war or something. It really brings out your inner strength. One thing I realized, looking back, is how much I've grown as a person while fighting benzo addiction (the first time in '06-'07, and this most recent time in the past year). I overcame my anxiety problems by dealing with the incredible, all-consuming anxiety of BZD withdrawal. It's a curse, but also a blessing. Best of luck, bro. <3 <3
 
transitions of power take a LONG time for a country. Think about the administration and all the paperwork, documents, knowledge, relations, etc.. that you need to update a new ruler on so things dont go to shit for a while. Not only that but leaving immediately is asking for civil war when people start stepping up.
The problem is no one has a clear cut game plan for when he leaves.

First and foremost, it massively inflates the ego. It also robs you of your intellect while simultaneously convincing you that you're smarter than ever. It sensitizes your adrenals so that everyday anxieties are exaggerated.

God, the worst though-- it wears you out, and ages you. Look at Hunter Thompson at age 60 for a great example of this: the guy looked and sounded like he was at least 80 years old. Some of his last interviews really convinced me that his brain turned to mush-- he sounded like he'd had a stroke or something. He had used cocaine nearly daily, and amphetamines frequently, for god knows how long-- decades, for sure-- and the results were pretty disastrous.
 
Yeah that's what I noticed in myself while I was prescribed for a couple years and abusing a couple times a week.. I don't think it took its toll on me too hard though, definitely made the ADD it was supposed to treat worse though.
 
Bottom line, I think amphetamine just ends up taking more than it gives. The specifics vary from person to person, but I don't think anyone looks back on their amp-using days and says "wow, that was a beneficial experience." The experience is always bittersweet, if not just plain bitter.
 
Yeah a lot of the really shitty shit that's happened to me through my teens has been made much worse by amps. Like making it really easy to convince myself that a horrible codependent relationship was a-okay. :P Ego inflation is disastrous in the right circumstances.

Very fucking true. I had to stop taking it back in highschool because of the toll that it was having on me. Didn't help my anxieties, and turned me into someone else, who wasn't much fun to be around.

Feels weird to be back on them. Though I haven't taken any for almost 3 weeks. Hopefully I wont be an idiot with them this time around.

Sorry about not posting much the last two days. Had a big test and stayed up all night, and just haven't been feeling that great. Frustrating situations going on in my life on top of just constant work I'm doing for school. Oh well, bout to do some k with a good friend of mine. Nothing like being around the ones the truly matter.

I've said it before, but I shall once again praise my local 99cent store's wonderful cough syrup. I mean, at those prices, you can't blame for indulging with some regularity, can you? I have indigestion and some abdominal pain since I ran out of medication a few days ago and can't get anymore till tomorrow at the soonest, but I think I shall indulge tonight anyway. 720mg, awaaaay! :)

I'm glad you're enjoying you're trip man. But I have to ask, why spend it here with us? There's a whole big beautiful world outside calling your name. I can't stand being cooped up when I'm tripping.

Not to say you're being forcibly held captive or anything. Obviously you can leave if you want, just curious is all :D

I am happy that you chose to think of us and reach out to us while you're tripping though. That shows love and kindness <3 You're a good person.
