I found out yesterday that my ex and partner of 10 years passed away 2 days ago from an OD. She was a former mod of this forum, Karma/Love*Lite.
I keep hearing her loud obnoxious laughter in my head.
Rest In Peace my Love.

Damn, that's so harsh... My condolences Delsyd ??

Delsyd, that's pretty intense to have to deal with. I hope that this doesn't bring you down for any longer than it needs to. Peace be with you man. This is a reason to fight the good fight... yet I'm still having trouble digesting it.

It does seem like opiates are mega overprescribed in the US. In Canada that's an issue as well, but maybe a little bit less. The main problem right now in Canada is with fentanyl and it's analogs, which being trafficked outside of the medical system, and showing up unexpectedly in cocaine and stuff like that. People are dropping like flies.

Pill mills, the new drug dealers.

My condolences to everyone who just lost a friend. :(

And pharma keeps churning them out... it's all good for them. Makes you wonder. I doubt someone is sitting there at the helm thinking, gosh, there sure are a lot more people in pain these days, that's weird. Meanwhile, opium is illegal... unless pharma is using it to make oxycodone/etc. Then it's medicine. Unless you don't have a prescription. And weed, psychedelics? Nope, illegal.

There's clearly a tremendously huge supply... someone's gotta get them all out there. The demand has become too much for filling through people selling their legitimate prescriptions or robbing pharmacies.

Prescription rates are at an all time low right now for the past decade (that I can tell), I really don't think it's the prescriptions doing everyone in, but rather being cut off from those prescriptions.

edit: this might be insensitive considering the circumstances, so I'm tucking it away. But here's a graphic anti-opium poster I remember seeing in laos ages ago:

The image always stuck with me, maybe we need this kind of public campaign in the west.

I hope for a day when alternative, non-physically addictive anesthetics are used instead of opioids. They really are too much risk for too many people to be handed out willy-nilly in the way they are by doctors. Or any future in which doctors' priorities are the safety of the patient over kickbacks by Big Pharma.

I'm not sure that's true. There are "pill mill" pain clinics all over, especially in some states. They're handing out prescriptions to anyone. The fact is that the market is absolutely flooded with exponentially more pills than there used to be. The problem is that people are able to get them, and do. This leads to a much greater number of addictions, due to greater availability, and more overdoses. Apparently in west virginia oxycodone is the number one drug of abuse.

^To be fair, oxycodone was one of the best opioids I've had...hence I will never ever ever take it again. It ticked all the fucking boxes for me. :|

Hmm, the thought of opiates does not seem quite so alluring recently which means my abstincence is working. Of course, I think I could very easily walk directly back to them but I'm finding it simpler/easier to decide not to do this. Its been 17 days since I last used :)

Speaking of a nice chunk of time, the last week has been a divine intervention of unwavering synchronicity, serendicity, executive precision, fractal time-modulation, you name it, facilitated by a run of 3-Meo-PC peeing and Tweet Meowing, and I mean that in that most literal way, the most hexagnonstic-entrendre-way possible, dribbling down my bubble like a bibbling enscribbling and flithering fligh-light feeling way posse bell.

Flow like river of life.
Multi-Quote This Message

I'm in the come-down though, but the after-flow is an after-glow of crystal-clear reflections, persistent revelations...every beat of the drum. revelflections...every beat of the drum.
Every beat of the drum.

LOL the 'multi-quote this message' was kind of an accident, merging two smaller posts. I thought it was a head scratcher so left it in.

My girlfriend told me last night she wants to try tripping while listening to music and not socializing. Cool. :) She's really interested in having a deep experience and I was telling her about how not trying to interact with the external world is the best way to do that.

Vibe-o-nauts sailing the vibon-ah-chi seaquenches. How many seas to quench the vibes? 1 1 2 3 5 8 13? No fib, it's Fn = Fn-1 + Fn-2. Always expanding to another spiral vibecycle.

Music and tripping go together like peas and carrots, possibly even better.

Music and tripping go together like... Music and tripping! I can't think of two things that go better together to use as a point of reference.

Took some LSD and 2C-B last night. T'was fun. I like that I'm at a place in my life where 3 hits of blotter and ~40mg 2C-B is my idea of a nice, mild, "entertaining night in" kind of trip :D Can't believe it took me until recently to try this particular combo - acid and 2cb go together like music and tripping! ;)

Seeing Sara again tomorrow :) She's finishing up her first week at a new internship, which she's been really stressed about but which seems to be off to a good start. She passed her on hire drug screening, and confirmed that they don't do randoms without cause, so at least she can smoke weed again now - hopefully that's helping with the stress.
