Yeah, I've clogged up my filter by filling up my pouch with swamp water..........it's like drinking from a pouch full of watery civilisations.

All this filter talk has me fiending for some camping. Soon, soon. We're super shut down here for at least another three weeks.

This shit's going to go on for a while... San Francisco is going to be hit really hard in the next few days as those that were in the shelter that had 70 infected people were removed from the shelter with the offer of hotels they cab only leave for "essential trips" so many refused instead going to the streets where many are likely incubating the virus where they could pass a test yet within days become spreaders while joining the many tent cities or sleeping on the late night bus. I learned about the shelter stuff this afternoon from someone on the streets I also asked about how most were dealing with the closure of stores and inability to shoplift as well as finding a fence, which the latter still happens just later at night, and apperently this person switched to poaching amazon boxs specifically off doorsteps because "Amazon will replace them" where others are not as likely to be engaging in conscientious thieving... This is going to cause so much disruption in the city. Stores have literally boarded up because they're expecting looting. This shit is insanity.

Yeah the whole world is turned on its head right now. As much as I think social distancing is good for a time, to slow it down and not overwhelm hospitals, I hope we don't keep lockdowns for too long because it's going to devastate small businesses and millions and millions of workers. And it's still going to exist and keep sweeping through the population when lockdown ends. It's a pretty fucked up situation and I think overreacting is going to be at least as bad as underreacting.

Luckily Ohio has kinda been on the forefront of this stuff and our governor is looking to begin reopening some things in 2 weeks. The plan is to roll it out in phases and if cases spike then we roll it back. Seems pretty sensible to me but I know not every state or country is handling it like that

overreacting gives us more time to develop some medicines and eventually vaccine. I know you guys are pretty fucked there when it comes to welfare and stuff, but it is better to live than die. We might be just one day or one week away from breakthrough. gigantic powers are working on it 24/7
a lot is still unknown about this virus, makes you afraid what permanent damage it could do. like can it make you infertile?

btw did you qualify for that $1200 stimulus Xork? will they give another one soon?

Yeah, it's looking like some places may soon be starting to open up. Germany will be soon. Austria, Denmark, and Czechia are slowly opening up. Spain as well.
Here in Canada, it looks like everyone has this thing licked, at least the first wave....except Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia. Here in Ontario, it's looking shit for at least another three weeks, but possibly longer. Can't even go camping on Crown land now and you're allowed to live on that stuff for free here. Not in plague times.

I'm quite optimistic though that by June, pretty well all of Canada, Europe, and the US will be fairly normalised.

Singapore just had 942 new cases.. Spain will continue restrictions till 9th May at least. Germany will open 8000 m² areas soon. They try to open schools at 4th May too. It seems like everyone who is trying to open have to shut down soon after... scary shit.

Yeah, true.....like what's happening in Japan, for example. Where they just introduced closures after it looking like they were well clear of it.

Well, my first camping music festival of the summer has already been postponed til next year so at this point I'm just hoping beaches and Crown land are open by June or July at the latest so I can at least go post up somewhere and not wear much, drink wine and mushroom tea and enjoy life.

I did, I don't actually need it, I mean I'll take it but I still have my job since I work from home as a programmer, I mean FFS I just got a raise. I'm not worried about myself, but about millions of other people.

Yeah I just asked if you got it. I would take free money any day.

We will have some big problems in EU soon. They are talking about "coronabonds" - so some not so heavily in debt countries should take part in paying these countries debts - like Italy, France. I don't really know how it should be - but it seems like these countries haven't really been even trying to get their economy in check before. Italy for example, mafia is running stuff there - like 10% of GDP worth. Pretty fucked up stuff. This could be the end of EU... I don't know what will happen.

Are you implying that the national debt of Italy is so high because of the massive avoidance of taxes given that 10% of GDP is attributable to the mafia?

i dont know what you're saying but italy debt of gdp is 134% (were) while finland debt of gdp is (were) 59%....

I'm asking if you think Italian national debt is so high because of the tax avoidance that is caused by the mafia running so much of the economy.

I think it probably is partially to blame. I mean, if you have lesser revenue due to tax avoidance then it follows that you would have less money to run a balanced budget with.

3g of San Pedro powder, 50ug of DOC, and 3-4mg of dextroamphetamine is an amazing combination so far. Given, I would likely be feeling super overstimulated if I had not spent two hours outside running 2.5mi, walking for almost a mile, and then river rock hopping (@Xorkoth I found an amazing spot! No water, it's an empty bed, but great rocks) for quite a while, with sun bathing sessions on rocks dispersed in between. Gah. So good.

Hell yeah! I haven't been river hiking in a long time now, last summer I was too busy with the band, and now that I have tons of time, they've just closed the parkway which is how I get to all the spots I know about. :(
