Hmm. Interesting. I just find it very curious -- human beings and their relationship to music. Ultimately I think it must serve some sort of reproductive advantage, although I can't really imagine how or why that could be. But I firmly maintain the position that all major endeavors of humankind are not accidental, from an evolutionary perspective. And the amount of energy that humans put into creating pleasing sounds is astounding.

I get it, now! Wow.

O.K.

Music is simply an exercise for the brain. One man creates sounds that conform to a particular mathematical pattern, or algorithm. He is the music producer. The other man, the listener, then subconsciously begins to analyze the sounds for the pattern, in an attempt to understand the original formula by which the producer made the sounds. Once the listener discovers the pattern, he is rewarded, and hence the pleasure we associate with listening to music. And, in repeating this time and time again, listening to various musical rhythms and melodies, interpreting various unique mathematical relationships, the pattern-recognition functions of the brain are exercised.

I love this.

That would never happen round these parts.

Canada has a huge ancestrally Irish population, and it's a student neighbourhood. People see today as an excuse to revert to an animalistic state. There's people on the rooftops screaming and trowing beer bottles; makes me wonder how on earth these people get into uni and do the work involved, along with the intellectual capacity required for it.

It just took me by surprise, I've been around drunk people and been drunk myself but today is just off the hook, 4pm and people already have a hard time keeping balance and being rather destructive and rude. Weird scenes man.

^ LMAO :D

I saw that one a while ago and powerlaughed as much now as I did then. When he opens the fridge door and the rearward gravity when he's trying to leave the store have me in stitches. :D

^I'm glad I haven't gone out in public in such a state more than once or twice (or three times. Certainly no more than four.).

Walking in the rain at night is much better than doing so during the day. It's abnormally dark and cold during the day, but at night thanks to light polution things are brighter under leaden skies. And the black water on the sidewalks and streets, the yellow glow of the streetlights, a certain redness about things...there's a beautiful insular warmth to it. The water isn't offensive so much as a pleasant caress, physical discomfort that results after a while aside.

When the rain falls, it don't fall on one man's house~

In other news we're back to the iris, mah favorite flower. Which just so happens to mean faith.

So. Much. Sativa. Its been a good day. Connecting with someone is always great, especially when this person is special :)

Man, it is so hot here today it's gotta be 25 out there at least. Just walking to the library has me sweating. I din't think I've ever seen it so hot so early in the year. This sucks for studying.

just dose a few mg of 25I. guessing around 3mg no more than 4mg.... was the last of my vial so i just sorta went for it =p

how's everyone in PD land today?

on the topic of wealth;
i think it is possible for everyone to be advantaged - that is, if the wealth divide was truly balanced, it wouldnt be everyone eating bread all the time, it would simply be people living in more economical, rational ways - i think it's more about moving people towards a culture that is less absorbed in "throwing mass money at things you dont need"

i think if you removed rampant mass consumerism whereby people are practically burning money, throwing it in the bin - you dont need a bigger TV, you dont need this and you dont need that, there would easily be enough for both westerners and hungry ethiopians to eat strawberries and sugar

nota bene however, i think consumerism may be a result of the general neuroses and void of meaning and spirituality in the average westerners' life

i understand the argument of evolution, however, i think people can be quick to circumvent alturism; the human condition can be ruthlessly unidealistic

^On the subject, or rather very idea of "wealth"
Matthew 6:19-21 said:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I don't recommend this of course, but I was jonesing for some consciousness alteration today (aside from the normal caffeine and tobacco) so I scraped off all my old empty bags and scoops onto foil and chased. The result was a strong buzz that leveled off into a + bordering on ++. Much more enjoyable than I expected.

the obvious answer would be "drugs"

I dunno, I'm pretty moderate, but now that I'm done all my midterms I really want to take an opiate tonight. But I have a lab at 8:30 tomorrow, erghh.

but i think the more correct answer would be "if you don't use it, you lose it"

Likely. Last semester I was living off-campus in a family friends' basement and I did nothing but go to lectures and study and got decent marks. This semester I'm on campus, with a more noisy living situation, tougher to sleep, tougher to concentrate and harder courses to boot.

I think I'm going to go home for study week. I have to pull my shit up.

Quite a few flowers are blooming, 'cause spring is fast approaching. There are a number of gorgeous azaleas blossoming in a town neighboring mine, among other things. :)

the blue bonnets, indian paint and alamo fires are looking real nice lately

the rain is whats helping em but it'd be nice to go get a sunny day to get out n enjoy the roadside beauty

Hai gaiz. Bout to leave for a doc appointment, likely being put on Dexedrine. I've been prescribed adderall before but took my self off after some years. I hear dex has less of a pushy fee/hyperfocus aspect to it? Anyone have any experience with the differences? I know LMA does :)

Also my new song, drum & bass tune called Sprint Backwards

I know LMA does :)

In a manner where the difference between dextro and racemic doesn't matter anymore :P

I've been ampy lately, I don't like it. I'm going to try 2-FMA in a bit to see if it's more selective. I find racemic amphetamine to be too stimulating and enjoyable, with too many side effects. I need something that's good for focus without too much peripheral effects. I find the peripheral effects correlate with euphoria. As in, I find racemic amp more fun than dex amp. It just gets you going and feeling uppity, and then downitty.

Haha I see what you mean bout LMA ;) hahaha.

Yeah I just took a 5mg spansule and I think this is a good match for me. Not pushy at all (low dose of course) and gives just enough drive to get more stuff done in a focused manner. Perfect :) I'm glad my doc let me recommend a med, usually when you bring up a med you want they try and avoid it because its "drug seeking behavior". But I guess it was obvious I had legitimate info and reasoning for the suggestion, and she knows I'm a recovered drug addict n shit for better or for worse.

Yeah as fun as Adderall could be it's just not a good thing to use for almost-daily ADD treatment. I definitely agree that the peripheral effects seem to correlate with euphoria and body high.
