Thank you. I respect anyone who plays card games as a person. I personally could never get into wow. I thought about starting the classic but never did. Well now I get paid for playing runescape so all is truly good. Yeah, and about those boom builds. I used one of them in SWTOR as a marauder too. I absolutely love smashing a huge hit on the defence line. (sorry if this was hard to read, typed this in a rush)
Indeed. I haven't played WoW in many years. It was totally different period in my life. I can't recall exactly why I chose it over others. Perhaps familiarity? I was a pro level Starcraft player back in the day. I was familiar with the "World" from the actual Warcraft RTS games guessing that's why I gave it a whirl. I enjoyed it for a bit but IIRC it just got to grindy & repetitive. Actually I think my life just moved on at the time but the grind & group issues didn't help. Raiding got to feel more like a job than fun.
Obviously as a DPS build there wasn't as high a demand in a raid group. Though as I stated I played at a level where that wasn't really as relevant. Having a character of every class I could pull out a Tank or Healer if need be. Other than the high end raids I could usually tank them as a Fury warrior without having to switch to a tank spec or even gear. As you mention though boom builds are fun. I really enjoyed my "Boomkin" (Balance? IIRC) druid. I had to be careful with him though. Unless the tank was top notch I'd end up pulling aggro with the massive DPS he'd output. Holding back isn't as much fun.
With a good tank & the right group mates it was a blast to have the tank instead of pulling strategically as needed just pull the whole room & Starfall everything down at once.

That was always a blast. I'm sure the game has changed a lot since I played though from what I've seen in various articles & such. The fury warrior was my other favorite but didn't get as much group play. He'd really have to hold back or pull aggro to often. That or end up being asked to / tanking. Far to many people would bitch about tanking without re-spec or other change ups.

I always figured if I'm being nice enough to Tank for you don't bitch about how I do it... Seeing as I could hold aggro & such as I was I figure I'm tanking for you let me do it my way. If the raid was to hard for that sure I'd change but if I could Tank the particular dungeon as a fury; let me. Obviously that was dependent on the healer not sucking but I digress.
At least you get paid for your grind!

I don't mind the grind as much with MTG Arena as I figure I'll try to compete in tournaments & such once the sets rotate in the fall. I plan pretty far ahead. Generally if I play multi-player games I play pretty competitively. As a result I don't play much in the way of multi-player. As I stated i played RTS games competitively back in the day but RTS as a genre has really declined. With the MTG Arena thing it's kind of me being suckered into nostalgia. I really enjoyed the game back in the day & it somewhat brings back that childhood feeling.
In general I'm a big fan of strategy type games & card games fall into that. IIRC MTG is considered to be the worlds most complex game. Definitely right up my alley.

Now that Ikoria is available for quick draft I'm going to try to draft my way to a play set. I've done some human drafts but think that bot draft will likely have a better rate of return. You play vs other humans regardless but for the draft process it's bots for quick & human for premiere. MTGA only added the human drafting in the last month or so. So I'm still gathering data as to which has a higher return of investment. Hoping I have a good day today!
I lucked out on getting a few mythic rares yesterday. Seeing as rares being a mythic instead are at least 1:20 or 1:30 depending on the format I'm always happy to get 1 let alone multiples. Though farming for items & such I'm sure you know how the whole RNG thing goes.
Either way it was worth it for me as I acquired an
to go along with my
That's 4 of the 10 companions introduced in Ikoria acquired so far.

Considering how dominant companion has been as a new mechanic I'm thrilled to have gotten the ones I was most looking for so quickly! I'd been having a blast with Lurrus recursion decks but since I got Obosh I've brewed up a few fun decks with him as well. I don't have the cards for a Jeskai Fires deck & as I mentioned I'm saving my Wild Cards so Keruga isn't much use to me. The others though have been fun to play with. Even though all the companiso I've been enjoying Ikoria so far. Admittedly certain decks are annoying as hell but there are always some like that.
Anyways I'll quit rambling now. It's nice having a thread to chat about our gaming adventures in though. It has made my day brighter at least. (y) Hopefully everyone has good luck in whatever they're playing this weekend & may the RNG rolls fall favorably upon thee.
