I don't want to jump on the band wagon, but just because you got negative symptoms doesn't mean every MDMA user everywhere will.
If you respect the drug you will be fine atleast 99 out of 100 times.
I know people that abused the fuck out of it, as in using 2-3 times a week, for almost a year, and they have made pretty much complete recovery's.
And that is like EXTREME abuse.
I would never recommend that somebody do this obviously, but I feel like your exaggerating the dangers of legitimate MDxx use.
The original poster said this was coming back after a year long break, so why would he be getting abuse symptoms from one use after a years time away?
People sometimes forget just how powerful the mind is.
I had a friend that was adamant about side effects like you.
he took LSD for his first time without doing any research (doesn't this stuff stay in your spine? Wont I get flashbacks? yada yada yada.).
He loved it, and decided to do some research of his own so he could continue to safely use this wonderful substance.
Suddenly he is telling me about all these symptoms he 'has', which were described on various websites.
Some of it was even physical pain just like you described.
So I sat down with him and we did some more research on legitimate sites like erowid, we talked it out, and after a few days decided maybe he was exaggerating a bit.
I even took him to a doctor (he insisted, and because I am his friend I begrudgingly went along with him) who told him he was fine, but that psychedelics are dangerous and should be avoided (8).
After calming down his post drug anxiety, he wasn't feeling any of the negative 'side effects' that felt so real a week ago.
It's kind of like how people have been given sugar pills and used the placebo effect to unwittingly ease their pain.
Now he trips with me regularly and has never complained about so much as a headache from lsd, or any of the other drugs he was introduced too.
